Removal of wisdom teeth.

My boyfriend is having his wisdoms removed soon but I'm wondering how long it will take for him too feel good enough to do things with me as my birthday is 3days after he gets them removed. The have already come through the gum though so will this make it less sore and enable him too feel better quicker? Also does anyone know roughly how long it takes for the person too feel better?

When my sister got her wisdom teeth out, they were deeper in the gum than her dentist thought, so it took her a couples of weeks to get better.

When my brother got his out, the teeth already came through the gum, which made the procedure a lot easier. When he got home, it was like he didn't have any procedure done at all.

I really hope it is like your brother. How old was he though. Also the dentist has said the roots are at sharp angles so it may be a little worse.

My brother got them out within the past year, so he was 25 or 26.

My mom had a problem with her roots when she got her wisdom teeth out, so she ended up needing a root canal, and they could only partially remove her wisdom teeth. But that was back in the '70s--now, you can get a root canal and be fine afterward.

Depends on the person really. Some people take a day while others will take a week or more. You may need to celebrate your birthday later. In the meantime I would take care of him (having wisdom teeth extracted hurts).

He'll have the woozies for the first day, but he'll be fine afterward. Don't let him drink until he's off his pain meds. A bad lesson, that.
