You're probably going to have to use a powder after your foundation to make your skin look more matte. If the cover-up you're using now is good for keeping the breakouts for a minimum then I'd say stick with that and use Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder.
If you want a new foundation entirely, I like Rimmel clean finish, but the only issue I have now is that I'm too pale for even the lightest shade and they don't have a huge selection of colors. Another good choice would be Dermablend, but that stuff is a little pricey and takes some patience to use and have look natural.
With any foundation I use, I still always put the powder on after.
hope this helps

From my experience, matte finish foundations tend to slide/melt off very easily. What I used to use was Make Up Forever Matte Velvet (amazing coverage). But I don't recommend it for long wear. If anything, you should invest in this: Peter Thomas Roth Clinic Matte (it's a primer). Best sh*t I've ever used.
If you are looking for a nice foundation though, I've been very happy with Too Faced Founation. Actually, I'm really impressed. It doesn't break out my skin and it gives a really nice 'natural' look. Not powdery or cakey like the Matte Velvet.
Hoped this helped. Best of luck!

Use a natural primer, follow by an oil-free foundation, and/or add mineral foundation powder to the touch. (I reccomend using that during the winter.) - It would last longer and gives you more of a moderate coverage.
Demi-Matte, it's liquid and from Estee Launder.
Also, try a MoistureWear cream. Perhaps, cream powder, rimmel lasting finish foundation would suit your skin. It's very matte, long lasting finish plus it has built in primer as well. I've repurchased this foundation twice before.
