-First, no coffee or tea after 6 PM
-Avoid sleeping pills.
-Make going to sleep some kind of a fixed ritual: same hour each evening (a walk? Looking at the night through a window), drink something, then bathroom, prepare clothes for next morning, washing, book, read, eventually listen 15 minutes to your bedside radio, then lights off, then sleep. (simple things like that thus)
Start it a day you feel tired but not exhausted.
Of course, it won't work the first times but once you get the hang of it, that helps if you stick to it.

Melatonin is a natural drug that can be bought from any pharmacy. It's a hormone that makes you sleepy when it gets dark. Some people don't have enough of it in their bodies so it might work. I've heard light exercise, warm shower or warm milk could work. I've also heard that masturbation can help you sleep. What else.. boring books.
You need to figure out WHY you can't sleep. Is something on your mind? Are you worried about anything? Have you been stressed out? Generally tired? Too busy? Extremely bored? Eating enough? Eating healthy? Eating junk food? Having caffeine?
If you figure out why you aren't sleeping, then you can fix it, and then you will sleep.
Things that help are relaxation techniques like a warm math or mediating or listening to relaxing music, eating healthy and eating enough of various foods, avoiding caffeine, and journaling.
Make sure that your room is dark and cool, don't have any distractions near you like TV or computer, don't eat or workout right before sleeping.
I found that mint tea really makes me sleepy, so does a warm shower, stretching, reading a history book..
Exhaust yourself during the day and don't take a nap. :D Also, don't fight back sleep.. Like, if you feel sleepy at 11 pm, just sleep, don't fight back and end up sleeping at like 4 am.
Hope I helped :) Good luck.

use melatonin like just_tired said. Other suggestions are set up a time schedule where you sleep at the same time every day, I used to have insomnia because of a random sleep schedule. Tire your self out by being active, jogging, playing sports, studying, reading, etc... and try not to think too much before sleep, just close your eyes and relax cause if you think too much you tend to stay awake longer, that's how it is for me atleast.
Chamomile Tea ( " is probably the most popular herbal remedy drink that people use to help them relax and sleep. It's sedative properties make it a popular choice for those that want to combat anxiety " )
And there is also a tea called Sleepytime Tea.
I make a big batch of Chamomile Tea and refrigerate it and drink 8oz at night like iced tea and it works for me.Cannabis is a natural remedie for insomnia, I had the same problems then I started smoking pot about 2 hrs before bed and I always have the best sleeps on earth when I do. I know its illigal and blah blah blah but hell its fun, natural, and a hell of a lot less harmful then pharmaceutics that do the same thing without the fun
A three-letter word, s'heart. It's called s.e.x.!
Seriously, just try it before you go to bed. With or without a partner. Even solo sex works fine for me when I need sleep soon.
No wonder there's that long standing complaint about "guys using their wives as a sleeping pill"why don't you just take some aspirin or paracetemol?works for me! really knocks me out specially if I take 2 lol
please please pleasssse answer mine! about help! I think my crush likes another girl! Here you go: link
Work out, watch a boring movie. Alcohol, nyquil, or benadryl help me on the really bad nights.
Straight up OTCs don't work. Antihistamines will give you a mad hangover, you won't function.
You have to go zops... it is the best. Ask your GP, but they won't dish it out to you for long periods of time.Just wiff some ammonia, puts me right out.
