Can clothes and grooming make up for other deficiencies?

Girls, would you overlook a guy being a little overweight, but working on it, if they dress well and generally take care of themselves?

Or, to put it another way; all else being equal (personality, education, income, etc) would you prefer a guy who was fit/skinny/etc (nice body) but dressed like a complete slob (ill-fitting, old, stained, torn, or etc clothes), has bad skin, etc...just generally don't take care of themselves and their appearance or a guy with a little bit of a gut or a "soft" appearance (but not Biggest Loser or anything even remotely like that) but who has nice, classy, stylish clothes and who takes the time to take good care of their hair, nails, skin, etc?
