Eye contact and what...?

I'm 16. Second year in High School (I don't live in America and our school system might be different, I don't know if 16-year-olds are 2 years in high school there) so there is this girl, 15, first year. I like her a lot. I eye-contacted with her a lot since September. I didn't make any move yet but I want. We never talked before. Opinions and Advice?

Info: I'm a little shy, romantic, have a lot of friends in school, good student but not nerd, polite, point guard on my school's basketball team, girls say good-looking & some girls say hot, had lot of flirting but never had any relationships.

Forgot to add: She looks back but she is serious. I didn't try to smile at her so she didn't, too. We don't have common friends.

Be brave. Get the thought of rejection out of your head. Make it a goal to get as many rejections as possible. I'm not going to tell you to be yourself because I don't know you. Hopefully you have a decent sense of humor. Find something to say or ask her when you approach. Keep the conversation ubeat, and funny. If she's smiling...looking into your eyes (not at the ground), laughing...and talking too...then after a few minutes say "Her Name, It's been nice talking to you, by the way, what's your phone number?" Then shut up...watch, and listen to her. Be ready to write the number down, or put it into your phone. Regardless if you get the number...tell her to have a good day...and walk away. DO NOT say thanks...or I'll call or text you...or I'll talk or see you later. Let me know how it goes.

Ok, dude, thanks. I'll try that. But what about the "do not say thanks" thing? Why? Also... will she be comfortable enough to give me her number from the first time we talk? I've met girls who weren't.

She should be thanking you for asking for her number right? Cause you're an awesome guy? Right? See what I'm saying? If she's not comfortable giving you her number after 3-5 minutes of talking, then she's not interested enough, and you won't need to waste anymore time on her. Plus she will appreciate you having the confidence to ask for it so soon. If you're driving, your second option is to ask her to lunch for a specific day. Just you and her. Then ask for her number after lunch.

You're like a salesman. Talk to her...and close the deal. Either ask her out to lunch (close)...or ask for the number (close). I'm willing to bet if she asked you for your number tomorrow...you would give it to her right?
