Losing weight: Help!

So right now I'm about 5'5" and I weigh more than I would like to. I'm looking to lose between 40-60 pounds. 60 may be too much, but I want to lose at least 50. I'm a student and have a part time job. I do go to the gym, though, and have been changing my eating habits. I want to lose all this weight by the end of August, possibly? Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me? It'd be appreciated. :)
