How many people here had a gap in between their front teeth and decided to close it with braces?

How many of you decided to close your gap with braces of some sort...and how long did it take to close?

I asked this question because I always had a gap (it runs in my family),and my gap is the largest of them ALL.I can fit a standard straw in between it.I always wanted braces...well when I was younger,and as I grew older,i accepted that it is something that makes me an individual.I have had the opportunity to meet lauren Hutton at my jobas well as James Stamos,and a ton of other people who have only had positive remarks concerning my teeth.Also I often meet dentists who tell me quite often to

never everrrrrr close it! Its just interesting to me how some people have a certain idea of perfection,meanwhile a person can still look swell with something thought of as a FLAW.

But I also believe in people feeling comfortable with who they are as well.So if having straighter teeth makes you feel more comfortable. Then that is great as well. :)

I had it when I was little. And when I was 12 or something I got braces. I do not regret it. I do not like crooked teeth on me. So I am happy now and I do not miss it, although I am not much good at whistling anymore, hahaha.

If you go to the orthodontist every month to get them tightened then it probably takes 1,5-2 years. It will hurt a bit every time they tighten them, but later your mouth adjusts.Then after that you will have 6 months of night retainers. And after all that you will have a nice straight line of pearly whites.

I don't but have a friend that does, she she when she was younger all she wanted to do was have it closed but now that she is older she is happy that she did not, but she doesn't think she would have regretted it, she is just older and happy with the way she is.

i did it. it took a couple years, but then again, I had a couple of other crooked teeth as well. Now my teeth are much straighter, and better. Yeah, the braces worked, but they take some time. They're also quite painful. But no, I do not regret it.

Ehh... I'm not overly good looking as is. I'm not hideous, but not great. I imagine my looks would take a dive with my teeth the way they were. I think It's better now.

I simply couldn't afford them growing up.But I also think that now,gaps are IN so to speak,and I think that's why people are making such a big deal about them now.

I had gap growing up but as time passed, it magically closed on it's own.. Weird I know, but suddenly I've noticed it reappearing. It's such a small gap that I don't really mind it, and nobody else would ever notice it but I do want braces to close it if it gets any bigger. I'd probably only have them for a few months, it's that small. But it's not a big deal, I don't really stress over it.

I have a small gap and I always wanted to get braces growing up. But, I feel like if I ever did, I would probably miss it. Plus, I'm so used to seeing my teeth, if they were ever perfectly straight, I think I'd look weird. aha my gap isn't tremendously noticeable either, usually when I tell people I have one, they never notice until I mention it. I've come to love it, it really isn't all that bad.

i had a gap but I needed braces anyway because my teeth were uneven. personally I don't like gaps so I would close them. I would think if you ONLY had gaps it wouldn't take too long if you are an adult and lost all your baby teeth.

my friend had one and she fixed it, if there is something bad with your teeth even a small thing it means that there is something wrong with your teeth in general, most people even if they have good teeth should get braces because that will prevent any problem in the future

noo! I still have braces it's been a year and 3 months but I love how they look now! My did not like my gap at all and also had other teeth separate but I will be getting my braces off really soon!
