Is your fat percentage higher than it should? Otherwise your butt couldn't be that big. Trust me, unless you do weight lifting like one of those female bodybuilders, your behind won't get any bigger, it'll just look firmer and prettier. You'll have a pretty behind, LOL! I almost think its kind of arrogant and funny to think your butt would get that big from squats, LOL! Seriously female bodybuilders weight lift about 6 days a week, maybe 7 days. They usually work out several hours in the morning and afternoon.
Most people I have seen can be quite stubborn headed and even arrogant about weight lifting. There are only 2 ways to weight lift... the right way and the wrong way, there is no your way. You could work out everyday nonstop without much improvement and your behind would never get bigger. I find it annoying when I see ambulances at the gym across from me, I'm like, "Another fool did something stupid again."
haha no .. I have been told I have a body shape similar to Beyonce though not quite as large overall.. I'm still gonna squat away because I love the feeling but I did get concerned when my guy said that.. All I really do in the gym is weigh training as I don't like cardio and don't have much weight to lose.. I really just want to tone up. So I thought squats would help my behind and legs.. I don't want larger legs though.. I want my thighs slimmer... thanks for your answer
Two things may happen. The extra work will make the muscle grow bigger..but the working out- with a controlled diet-- will get rid of the fat. The first will tend to make your behind a little bigger, the second will make it smaller.
For most people, the second thing will have a larger impact than the first, since most people have a lot of extra fat to lose.
The overall result will vary with different people, but unless you're doing squats with weights, your behind won't get significantly bigger.

They will not necessarily make your butt bigger. In some cases, they might. I have a big butt and I always have. But squats didn't make it bigger... Squats made it round and firm, just like you say.
They most certainly will benefit your butt and legs! Don't stop doing them just because he is uneducated. Ask him if he is a woman and if squats have personally made his female butt bigger. When he says no, let him know that a majority of women won't report a dramatic increase in size, but rather a change in shape. If you like doing them, keep doing them! They are great for you.
It doesn't make your ass bigger, it just changes the shape and structure.
Peoples fat are distributed differently.
Either you have an ass or you do not.
If you aren't born with one, then don't hope that squats will magically make them appear.
For these reasons, a lot of people get surgery (booty injections ).
If you already have an ass and want it to be perkier or rounder then continue squatting.
The only thing that will cause it to appear huge is if you left heavy weights while doing them.
Your muscles will be overdeveloped causing your but to look big when it's regular size.

Most women don't put on bulk from weight lifting, especially if they aren't taking supplements. I lifted weights hardcore all through high school playing sports and still had an unfortunately flattish (but solid, lol) booty due to my genetics.
IF you do weighted squats yes.
Glutes (your ass) are muscles. Muscles worked grow.
