When you stop feeling your exercise?

So this may be a dumb question but I Googled it and didn't come up with an answer so here I am.

When you stop feeling your exercise does that mean it has stopped working?

I have (or had) a rather vigorous workout routine that I do. Only lately it's gotten super easy for me - so easy to the point that I don't even feel like it's doing anything. I used to be able to feel it a lot and felt that I had a great workout when I was done with it.

So since I no longer feel it does that mean it has stopped working or is it still working?

Should I add sets or weight to my workout to feel it? Or do you not necessarily have to feel a workout for it to work?
