Ideally deep squats use both quads (front of the legs) and glute/hamstrings (ass and back of legs). If you're using a lower bar position its easier to get the glute/ham piece in.
Focus on using your ass out of the bottom of the squat. So out of the 'hole' as they say, you're focusing a little more on unfolding your thigh-torso angle, then your quads take over and push straightening your knees as you move up.

Try altering your form. You should feel it in your legs, but also in your butt. When you squat pretend like you are sitting down. Stick your butt way out and go as far down as you can, come up and repeat. Perhaps squats aren't challenging enough for you, in which case you can try holding weights as you do them or jumping each time you come up.
Yes thats normal, as Agrojag said you need to improve your form as there are many types of squat also you need to do lunges if you wanna feel it in your butt

If you're not using weight you're doing them wrong. If you're not going below parallel you're doing them wrong. If you're not keeping weight on the heels at all times you're doing them wrong.
Are you squatting low enough? I see girls all the time squatting and barely going down at all... like centimeters.
Squats work your quadriceps first and foremost, so you'll definitely feel it in your legs. I believe hamstrings and glutes are secondary.
