Christmas First World Problems

curiousnorway

We all have "problems" we face. It can be in our daily lives or it can be in special occasions. How great your problems are highly depends on the individual, but also if you're from a first or a third world country. Here are some typically first world Christmas problems you may relate to. If you've something I forgot to add in the list or relates to some of this, please share it in the comments. This MyTake don't need to be taken too seriously and don't apply to everyone. And merry Christmas.

I've also written another Christmas related MyTake last year.

1) Empty wish list

Christmas First World Problems

When you don't know what you wants for Christmas and you bought something you wanted for a couple of months ago, so you've to sit down and think over what you wants to tell your family and friends to not disappoint them...and then end up with an empty list

2) Buying gifts to people who doesn't knows what they wants

Christmas First World Problems

For many it's expected of them to buy gifts to their loved ones; family and friends. It's not necessary someone telling you so, but as an unknown unwritten rule you knows about.

Not only is not knowing what you wants for Christmas a problem, but your loved ones don't know what they wants either. So you're both stuck having to guess which gifts would be appropriate and you've to be creative. As tempting it may be to give money you may not want to seem too boring either.

Socks may not be the most interesting gift either, but as long the person had it on their wish list, you could at least be relieved that they actually wished something. Ah, so simple!

3) Messy house

Holy Crap!
Holy Crap!

Presents, gift paper, dirty plates and leftovers everywhere...time to clean! The question that may fall into your mind may be; "Where do I put all my Christmas presents?"

4) Getting rid of unwanted presents

Gonna get rid of all of this!
Gonna get rid of all of this!

Is there something the days after Christmas are for, then it must be the Christmas swapping time. It's when you goes to the store where your loved ones bought the gift, sending it in and be allowed to pick another item for the same price without paying more. It's like trading. Every year between 26th December and 30th January the malls are over crowded because of this.

You can't really blame your loved one and especially not if you didn't know what you wished for and then told them to just buy something to not sound too boring. Some of the first world people may even spend hours per shops because they don't know what to pick instead, and not all of us are creative enough giving the gift to charities instead.

5) Too full

Christmas First World Problems

And then it's "good luck to eat all of this". During Christmas there are a lot of delicious food and many of us just wants more, but then we're, "BAM", too full. It's the feeling when one can't take one bite more. After the dinner you may have the dessert left waiting to be eaten. After all these Christmas dinners you may end up feeling heavy and then the next part comes; you've to emptying yourself so you can eat more.

6) Getting fat

Christmas First World Problems

With all the delicacies it's difficult to withstand the temptation. Turkey, cakes and cream...mmm! Many of us may easily forget our tummy won't be nice after all this yummy food. While our bank accounts gets smaller during December month, the body grows thicker. And when the January 1st starts one finally realize it's ca. 6 months to summer time and it's then time to prepare for the summer with the beach body again. I promise you, many where I lives goes through this every year until they gets too old to lose weight.

7) Leftover food

Christmas First World Problems

And when you've too few guests, made too much food or did both of them and you didn't want to be as fat as last year, then you're stuck with all the leftovers.

8 ) Too much Christmas decoration

When you're insisting on
When you're insisting on "Only picking one".

Christmas isn't all about the food and the presents although they're very present in the holiday. We've also all these Christmas decorations. They're both easily available and there are a lot of options nowadays, so choosing only one may not always be piece of cake and you don't want to end up with too much decoration either. Rest of the year it's stored in the garage or attic anyway. Less is also more. So one day we've to learn to only pick one and tidy up!

9) Earworm

EARWORMS!!!
EARWORMS!!!

Songs can be stuck on your brain and it can last foreeever. Christmas song or not, when the songs first are stuck in your brain, they rarely shows mercy! "Last Christmas, I gave you my heart... lalalalala!"

10) Offended by the word "Christmas"

Christmas First World Problems

In the Western world where most of the first world countries lies the amount of none-Christian individuals increases, so now people "must" be more carefully when wording it to be considerate to none-religious and none-Christians. Ironically it's not these groups of people that gets most upset and most of them doesn't seem to care, but the SJW however have this as number one on their priority list during December. A Muslim said "Merry Christmas" to me and questioning me when I said "god vinterfest" which mean "happy winter celebration" instead.
