I'll try to make this short. Christmas is the most evil day out of the year.

Golden child in the Vatican treasury, like so many other images of the child in Catholic Churches, is reminiscent of the ancient worship of Tammuz as a child. Born on Dec. 25, he represented the rebirth of the sun. As a pagan god child, he was called “Baal-berith.” Pagan Anglo Saxons called Dec. 25 “Yule” Day, which is a Babylonian word for infant. Egyptians and Persians celebrated the birthday of their god on Dec. 25th. Other names applied to the sun god as a child are Mithras, Horus, Isvara, Deoius, Jupiter, Plutus, Ninus, Osiris, Dionysus, Bacchus, Iacchus, Adonis, Attis etc. All these myths of child worship originated from ancient Babylon with Semiramis and Nimrod.
Mother or Mary worship is the most powerful and emotional phenomenon in the Roman Catholic Church today. This mystic cult is given credence by the multitude of accounts about supernatural phenomena involving statues, apparitions and healings.

Since Mary worship is found nowhere in the writings of the first Christians, it is evident that its origin is found in the universal adoration of the mother goddess all throughout paganism before the time of Christ. It was adopted into the rising Roman Church early in its history - some suggest after the 4th century A.D.

-I could go on and on and on practically forever explaining why Christmas should NOT be celebrated or Easter either with eggs and such, anyways the many Biblical passages or why December 25 is self gratification day. If you dont care about any of this, then odds are that you dont even believe in God and just celebrate this holiday of the Vatican for your self gratifying pride, BUT if you do claim to be Christian, then you will take notice to what this holiday really stands for.

All religion is a myth. All have some basis in the pagan rituals, which are adapted and adopted as societies and civilizations are born, grow and ultimately decline.
You make some very strong points.
Humans seem to need an explanation of phenomena they do not understand, and that usually leads to mythology which explains to their satisfaction the 'realities' as they see them. This is why so many religions are founded on the solstices and the equinoxes, on the seasons and the lunar phases, often shrouded in antiquity and re-interpreted as time and distance increase from the source. Your arguments are valid, though they can have the effect of making people uncomfortable. Religion is like a drug, at times. It eases the anxiety and gives a direction to life, living and morality which fits the culture at the time. That's where it serves a purpose. As long as it continues to fill the needs, then it works, whether or not God, Gods, Creator, or Pantheon are real or not. In the mean time, there are those who, like you, do research, and that too is vitally important for the growth of our human evolution.
That one is better, I wish I could update... oh well

I thought Christmas was based off of Yuletide and it's traditions. I've never heard of the stuff in the pictures until now. Interesting
