I called my few of my friends and told them if they are want my Christmas home decor pine tree. He just given me a break and make this the last Christmas to decor. My new husband told me it is a pagan holiday to celebrate Christmas their isnno evidence Jesus was born in December 25 . I called my friend yet later friends and family end up calling me asking what is going on. My friend made appointments to talk to me that because they're are making this such a huge big deal. Why? Even my oldest sister who happen to be a jehovas witness wants to speak to maen because according to her make up us not a sin. People have died from living worldly disorganized lifestyle I dont undesirable why people out of no where get all concerned.
+1 yI’m worried about you because it sounds like people at your church are placing unbiblical mandates on you and causing you inconvenience by doing so that is unnecessary.
Pentecostalism did not exist until the Mid 1800’s. For 1800 years prior to that the birth of Jesus was celebrated on 12/25. No Christians were calling this a pegan holiday for 1800 years. Do you see the problem? Was the Holy Spirit asleep and not convicting the hearts of Christians for 1800 years that Christmas was a pegan holiday? Or is it maybe the new kids on the block (Pentecostals) are just a little over the top with their beliefs?
Protestants love to point at Catholics when Catholics refer to church tradition in regards to doctrine. Is not the way things always were, is not prior precedent a good tool to use and something to take into consideration when establishing doctrine? I’d like to think the first Christians who walked with Christ, who learned under the disciples, who were there at the very start of Christianity had a good idea what was what as they were closest to the events and we are 2000 years past them.
That is why I’m worried about you. You are taking 2000 years of established doctrine and Christian practice and putting it in the trash for the teachings that weren’t even developed until roughly 160 years ago. In doing so you are giving up things you enjoy and putting burdens on yourself that are cultish and forms of legalism for no good reason.
You do not seem to be able to show me in scripture where these ideas you are being fed are found and why they are right.
However, you must do as your conscience dictates. If you truly think makeup, Legos, Spider-Man, jewelry, wearing pants, having sex in any other position than missionary, and Christmas are sin, then you must do what your conscience tells you, as you are not sinning by avoiding those things. You are merely placing unnecessary burdens on yourself.
Scripture tells us we must be people of conscience.
“But the one who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.”
Romans 14:23 NASB2020
Whatever is not from faith is sin. Meaning that sin is: 1. Whatever is specifically defined in scripture, and 2. Sin is not what is specifically defined in scripture if the individual cannot do whatever action without believing it does not offend God.
Since you believe the things I mentioned offend God, than for you it is sin to do them. However I don’t believe that and there is nothing in scripture that says those things are sin either directly or indirectly, therefore if you tell me I’m sinning by doing those things you are committing sin. You must do as your conscience dictates. I must do as mine dictates on matters not related to what is specified in scripture.
Lastly, it was I who pointed you to the Lord when you were in the cult of Mormonism. It was I the Lord used to tell you that you must repent and be saved. It was I who has been faithful to council you carefully in the truths of God for the last few years. It was I who told you to buy a Bible. It was I that told you not to return to the Roman Catholic Church and also warned you about Pentecostalism when you converted. God has appointed me to disciple you. I have done so faithfully. I am telling you those things are not sin. Why do you not hear me? Do you think I am unsure of what I’m saying, or worse yet that I’m teaching you falsehoods? God forbid! You do as your conscience dictates but I appeal to you to use reason that I would not guide you into falsehoods and false religion. If you trust me, then why not now? Why not in regards to these things? It God was faithful to use me to bring you to him, why would he now be unfaithful and allow me to council you wrongly? Consider that.142 Reply- +1 y

In fact I’m inclined to say it and Charasmatics are false religions and basically blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. - +1 y
Sir I don't know what to say. It took me a while to be hable to finish. Every article you share. Sir yes and I do appreciate your time you took to preach to me the bible. Thisbpast Sunday I did attended the church everything was in lattin so I couldn't understand the serve. But your right it is way more different then the catholic church I grew up in.
- +1 y
Ut won't be necessary Sir I've read enough. Thank you for not giving up and still share tgus information while I was still a huge head.
- +1 y
I’m glad to hear you went to Latin Mass and I hoped you enjoyed it. They should have a missal with both the English and Latin so you can follow along.
It’s very different than the Novo Ordo Mass we both grew up with. I think it’s much more reverent and solemn. You won’t find the fake Christians and fake Roman Catholics at Latin Mass typically. I also went to Latin Mass on Sat with my uncle. - +1 y
I’m glad you read the information. I hope it was helpful for you.
Regarding the Latin Mass, I will only go to a Roman Catholic Church for that specifically as no other denominations of Catholics currently have a Latin Mass. That is the exact same way Christians worshiped for over 1000 years. I think we need to go back to the start as Christians as we’ve drifted to far from orthodoxy into modernism which is not good for anything.
This is a large part of the reason I will never be in a Protestant church again. Independent Catholic or Orthodox only. I feel a great need to return to the way things were always done from the very start. We’ve drifted too far now and not for the better. We need to return to our roots before liberalism and modernism perverted everything in church right down to how we worship.
I hope those articles on Pentecostalism were helpful to you.
Bear in mind I am not encouraging you to return to the Roman Catholic Church. Only if you want to attend Latin Mass. I do encourage you to look at independent Catholic denominations or better yet Orthodox denominations. The Roman Catholic Church is every bit as much of a cult as is the Pentecostal church. Their teachings are every bit as biblically unsound as the Pentecostal church in different ways. Like with their doctrines about Mary and other such things you are quite aware of. I will only go for Latin Mass to an RC church. Certainly not for regular worship or spiritual guidance. I’ll go only once a month because it’s so beautiful.
I strongly believe us Christian’s need to return to the way things always were. With modernism has come sin. The current pope now blesses same sex relationships. He is a blasphemer and a heretic, the RC church is now fully and undeniably apostate. I know many who are leaving it. Those who truly love the Lord and want to obey him are leaving it now. As they should.
For you I strongly recommend going to a reformed Baptist church. There you will learn good teachings. - +1 y
In a Reformed Baptist church you will learn Good teachings. You will learn solid Christian theology and doctrine over all. This is what you need being yet a babe in Christ.
I however will continue to attend my independent Catholic Church. I prefer that form of worship. To me corporate worship is for the express purpose of worshiping Christ together. It is a celebration. It is a joyous occasion. It is time to praise and adore Christ together as the body of Christ. You can think of it as a religious party for lack of better terms. However in Mass you will hear little preaching. Little reading of God’s word. That is because one is to do that on their own apart from mass. Yet, many Catholics are negligent in reading scripture and likewise in attending Bible study. So for you I recommend Reformed Baptist to get solid teaching. To really learn God’s word. To really learn theology.
I already know lots about that, so I don’t mind that I don’t hear a lot of preaching in church. I study every day.
For me I prefer to focus on the adoration of Jesus as it pretty much always has been for nearly 2000 years. I’ll get the real meat and potatoes on my own which is Bible study. Which is learning what scripture says. That’s the main part. The important part. For those who need much learning, I don’t recommend any Catholic denomination but rather to focus strictly on learning the Bible and scripture. Once that is understood, then if one prefers, it’s ok to go Catholic or Orthodox. But of first importance is to learn the word of God rightly and correctly regarding its meanings and teachings. Many Catholics fail here and attend Mass only. That is equivalent to eating a meal in which the main meal is skipped every day and only eat dessert. Mass is the desert of the spiritual meal. The meat and potatoes is theology, learning scripture learning how to rightly understand it and apply it, memorizing it. That is and should be the chief importance of each Christian. - +1 y
Feeding and nourishing the soul with God’s word and understanding his teachings is paramount. How else shall we make disciples if we do not know the word of God and don’t know it in right context?
As for me I plan God willing to become a deacon at my church and once I am to begin teaching the Bible to as many who care to hear it. I want to better educate my fellow Catholics in the Bible. To help them to know God’s word. To know good theology from bad. To know how to rightly divide the word of truth. They need more Bible study. I’d be allowed to give a homily as a deacon. I’d use that time to preach from scripture. Although I prefer the Catholic form of worship they need to be brought up to speed in knowing scripture and knowing its right meanings and applications. This I plan to make my mission and ministry as God allows. To help make the independent Catholics who truly love the Lord and follow him wise and well educated in what the Bible says. That is where Catholics tend to need help. I want them to be well equipped to share God’s word with others and to follow it well themselves. Yet, how can they without a teacher? We only have Bible study once a week at our church on Sunday. I want to expand that. I want to bring them up to speed…who so ever will and cares to learn. - +1 y
I’m always here for you. I’m always here to guide you in the things of the Lord so much as I’m able. You are my student and I won’t leave you to be ignorant to the things of God or guide you wrongly.
- +1 y
I also strongly encourage you to listen to John MacArther’s sermons. There are many on YouTube and his Grace To You app which you can get for your phone for free.
He is non denominational Protestant. Yet I don’t care. I listen to him, then I examine scripture to see if he is right. I think I may have heard only one thing he said I disagree with. He is probably the most solid teacher of scripture alive on earth today.
I don’t care what denomination someone is for the most part. If what they say is right, then it’s right. Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian or Non Denominational. It doesn’t matter to me. There are many good teachers in many different denominations of Christianity.
Yet, I’d likely never listen to a Pentecostal or Charasmatic and certainly never a Mormon or Jehovahs Witness. I only listen to teachers who are standing in the truth. From churches whose theology is solid. I won’t listen to those from churches who have many bizzare doctrines. I won’t even listen to Roman Catholic’s as they are compromised. Except one. Bishop Sheen. He is dead now. He never teaches from scripture but has many lessons on ethics which are spot on and edifying to the soul.
Even a broken clock is right at least twice a day.
But we must be careful who we listen to. Where we get our teachings from. There are many false teachers and many who are weak in doctrine and theology who should be avoided. - +1 y
Yes Sir I just download the app. I've been listening to his sermons. Thank you for sharing yes I decided to go back to Baptist church. I have been fearful a lot. Sir I have been thinking maybe its easier for a satanist to enter hell then me. I've been crying a lot maybe I won't enter heaven. I scare.
- +1 y
I'm scare Sir do you believe the Lord is merciful? 😪 I dont want tocend up in hell when I die. Maybe I don't deserve to be in heaven. Here I was sending people to hell maybe im the one who will end up in hell and all because of my hate.
- +1 y
What you are describing to me…. that sounds like either anxiety or an attack of the enemy.
You and everyone who is saved is saved by grace. Grace means unmerited favor. I don’t believe anyone chooses to be saved or not. I believe God chooses who he will save.
Although I am not the judge, Christ is, I’d be completely shocked if you weren’t saved. First of all those who are not saved almost never care if they are saved or not. Those who have rejected Christ don’t care about salvation or eternal damnation. Those who are self deceived also don’t bother to ask: “am I really saved?” They don’t ask it because they are self deceived. Often they think they merit salvation. However you and I both know neither of us nor anyone else deserves salvation. The first thing you must do is understand salvation is an act of grace on God’s part. We don’t earn it. We don’t deserve it and if we had anything to do with it at all we’d probably mess it up. So first and foremost rely on the grace of God.
You seem quite eager and serious about obeying the Lord and pleasing him. The churches have many “religious” people in them, but they don’t really love the Lord and many are secretly involved in all kinds of sin. From what I can see that isn’t you.
By why listen to my guesses if you’re saved or not. Let’s examine scripture to determine if you’re saved. Surly scripture must tell us right? - +1 y
So let’s start in 1st John.
In the book of 1st John we find this:
“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
1 John 5:13 NASB2020
That gives us a clue as to the contents of 1st John. It was written to believers that they may know they have eternal life. That they are saved. So that means somewhere in 1st John we will find a checklist or a list of signs to tell us if we are saved or not. Let’s examine those signs and you can examine yourself and determine if you see these things in yourself and if you do these things.
Sign #1
“but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
1 John 1:7 NASB2020
Do you walk in the light? Meaning generally speaking do you obey God, not perfectly but generally speaking? If so, according to the scripture about you know then that Christ’s blood has cleansed you from all sin. If you are disobedient as a general pattern of life, then that’s a problem, but that doesn’t seem like you.
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever follows His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:”
1 John 2:3-5 NASB2020
How do we know we are in him? If we keep his commandments as the above scripture says. Again, not perfectly, but generally.
Sign #2
“By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;”
1 John 4:2 NASB2020
Do you confess Christ as Lord and savior, that you are a sinner, that you have offended God, that Christ came in the flesh and died on the cross to atone for your sins?
I know you do, so we don’t need to spend more timethere - +1 y
Sign #3
“The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.”
1 John 3:24 NASB2020
This is a reiteration of what we already have read, but according to the scriptures, if we generally do what he said to do, then we know his spirit is in us.
Do you for the most part obey him? Then his spirit is in you and it means you’re saved.
Sign #4
“We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters. The one who does not love remains in death.”
1 John 3:14 NASB2020
How do we know we have passed from death to life? As the above scripture states we love the brothers and sisters. That is to say other Christians. God’s spirit is in them, and we are all part of the same spiritual family. If you love other Christians that is a sign that you are saved, as opposed to the rest of the world who hates Christ and therefore hate us too because he resides in us.
Sign #5
“We know that no one who has been born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.”
1 John 5:18 NASB2020
The above means that if someone has the Holy Spirit in him, he cannot and will not remain in stubborn and willfully disobedience to God because the spirit of God lives in his heart and will not allow his child to intentionally and willfully and continually live in sin. So then, when you know you have sinned, do you confess your sin to God, ask his forgiveness and resolve to do better? If so, then that’s a sign of salvation. That doesn’t mean we don’t have certain sins we may struggle with. What it means is when you sin, you don’t harden your heart and say: “I don’t care what God says, I enjoy my sin and am going to keep sinning.” One who does so is not saved.
Sign #6
Do you hate sin? Do you love what God loves. If the spirit of God resides in you, you will be made to be more and more like Christ as time - +1 y
Passes. You will love what he loves and hate what he hates.
#sign 7
Do you feel remorseful about sin? Do you regret it? Or are you indifferent to it? Do you love sin? Whoever loves what God hates cannot be his child.
Sign #8
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:8-9 NASB2020
Do you confess your sin to God, or pretend it never happened? Those who belong to God admit their failures when they become aware of them and ask his forgiveness.
Sign #9
“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know.”
1 John 2:20 NASB2020
The one who is saved has the Holy Spirit in them. Part of the job of the HS is to teach us truth from error. You saw that the LDS was error. You left it. You are starting to see errors with Pentecostalism, you left it. I’d say you’re on the right path. I’m not saying there aren’t saved Pentecostals but there are major problems with a lot of what they teach. The point is, without the HS you wouldn’t be able to see if the teachings and doctrines you believe are right or wrong, but the HS is clearly working in you here. You are still a babe in Christ. You still have much to learn. You don’t know everything, but you’re learning and will for the rest of your life as I am. So that’s another sign of salvation, that you can tell truthful teachings from error regarding the things of the Lord, in a general sense but especially when it comes to major point of the faith.
Sign #10
“If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness also has been born of Him.”
1 John 2:29 NASB2020
Do you pursue holiness? Do you seek to be like him? Do you seek to please him? If so do you really try, or just kid yourself that you do?
Now let’s look at the book of Galatians. - +1 y
The fruit of the spirit. Those who are save will have some degrees of all these. True, there may be a very small amount of one or the other but the indwelling of the HS produces these in the life of believers:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
Galatians 5:22-24 NASB2020
When you examine yourself, do you see those qualities in you? If so, it’s another sign of salvation.
Now let’s look at Romans:
“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,”
Romans 8:16 NASB2020
Does his spirit tell yours you are his? I think at this moment it may be difficult for you to discern, but listen closely.
These are all the signs I know of in scripture to know if we are saved.
You can examine yourself. Just know you will never be good enough or perfect enough. If you find yourself sinning less and less and growing in him more and more then you are likely headed in the right direction. - +1 y
Now, all that said, and pay close attention to this, I think what you are experiencing is a demonic attack.
This is how Satan and his demons work. They want you to doubt your salvation. He wants you to live in fear and terror. If you have examined yourself according to the scriptures I shared with you and think you are generally headed in the right direction, that yes, you aren’t perfect but are going in the right direction than you probably are. Satan however wants you to live in terror of God, yet if we walk in obedience to him, and love him, and are truly born again, we have nothing to fear.
That is how Satan really works, or at least one of the ways. He doesn’t invade your house and life because you watched a rated R movie. Instead he puts thoughts in your head. Gets you to question your salvation. Indeed if you examine yourself after reading all that and are alarmed because you find yourself severely lacking in something…ok…. that’s cause for concern, and the solution is simple. Just repent. But if not, than this is probably the devil messing with you.
I think you are just a babe in Christ. You’re leaning. I think you are scared because so many people say so many things about God and you’re not quite sure what’s right. You fear displeasing him. Fear not. We are not having this conversation for no reason. This conversation is by divine appointment. We are having this conversation because Christ had to bring you to this place to teach you some things. You have the HS. You have me. You have the pastor at your Baptist church. We are in your life because God has put us there to guide you, and in turn, one day you will guide others. God has not left you without wise counsel. He has not left you ignorant. He has put people in your life to teach you. I say to you follow me as I follow Christ.
My dear Marlene, I am not the judge of your soul, I have no heaven or hell to put you in, all I can do is give you my best estimation from what I know of you and my - +1 y
Estimation is this. I’m very certain you are saved. You have a zeal for God. You clearly love the Lord. You clearly want to obey him, and you take the things of God seriously. When you find you are in error you quickly and in fact frantically desire to fix it. That is not something that is typical of the unsaved but rather the contrary.
I will go to sleep with little concern for the destiny of your soul. I believe as much as I can see and know of you that you belong to the Lord. - +1 y
Now all that said, I’m glad to hear you will return to the Baptist church. I think this is a very wise move on your part. When you go to church, speak to the pastor. Show him what I have written here to you and ask him if what I said is right. Ask him to help you know if you are saved or not.
If you think you aren’t, not to worry, the solution is simple. Correct yourself, repent and move forward in the Lord.
God bless you. I will pray for you. Please don’t worry. From what I know of you I’m not worried, I don’t think you should be either, but I’ll let you examine yourself and you can tell me if you’re still worried or if I have been able to help you. God be with you. - +1 y

www.amazon.com/.../1590527747 - +1 y
One last thing I wanted to do is to further explain a principal I believe may be confusing to you. Let’s look at this scripture one more time:
“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whoever follows His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:”
1 John 2:3-5 NASB2020
We know our souls reside in sinful flesh. We know we sin. We probably sin daily in thought, word, deed, or what we ought to have done but failed to do.
The natural question is: how perfectly must I keep his commandments? Is there a line that divides having kept them enough from not having kept them enough? Like were’s the mark? What counts as a passing grade if you will for lack of better terms?
There is no answer for that. That is where we must rely on the grace of God. If you generally do what scripture says is right, and if you find you are having victory over sins, and if you find you are becoming more and more holy and sinning less and less, most likely you are doing what you should be.
We will never cease from sinning while on this earth. We will never keep his commands perfectly while on this earth. So, aim for perfection, heck even try to reach it, but if you come up short and you will you must rely on his grace. He knows we are but dust. He knows our hearts. He knows if we’re sincerely toeing the line as best as we can or not.
The key is if we generally do what he said to do. There is a massive difference between: oops I slipped up, and I intend to slip up and don’t care. There is a massive difference between struggling with one or more particular sin and failing, even often and not trying at all. If we find problem areas of sin, we pull out all the stops we can to have victory. As Christ works through us and redeems us from sin, he will give us the grace to get better - +1 y
So if you know you’re striving to honor and obey him, if you’re giving it all you got, yet still fail, just know you’re going in the right direction. We won’t ever be perfect on this side of heaven, but if our hearts which have been changed by the HS truly desire to change are earnestly seeking to obey and please him, we will find his grace to help us overcome more and more sin and become more and more holy and more and more like him. That’s called sanctification. You can think of it like a thermometer. If the very top of the thermometer is perfection and the very bottom is literally failing in everything, most of us are somewhere in between. Like a thermometer we should see our spiritual temperature rising also. It might go up, it might go down, it might go back up, but over time we should not be where we were. Christians aren’t sinless they just sin less…less and less and less. Sometimes the temperature rises high very quickly and sometimes it only goes up one degree for a long period of time. The bottom line is from the day excepted Christ and endeavored to follow him, we should be able to look back over time and see that there has been a progression in holiness.
It is the HS that does that. He gives us the power and desire to do so. People who are “religious” and are self deceived and are not saved are the same as they were on day one. No one can have the HS in them and remain the same.
To be clear this is not a mere behavior change plan either. Any fool can change their behavior in one or two areas, but those who are not saved are slaves to sin. They are in bondage to sin. Sin and Satan our their master. One might be for example an alcoholic, and quit drinking and be sober. However I believe in many cases if we could look into their hearts and know the true reason they quit drinking it’s almost never because they know their in sin and their sin is a grave offense to God and displeases him and for his glory and out of love for him they want to get sober. - +1 y
In such cases their motivations are usually for self fulfilling purposes. Like their health or relationships are effected. Another example. If one is a their, them may stop stealing. Not because they know it’s sin and they hate sin and because they know God is grieved, but rather perhaps because they got caught and the consequences made them want to stop being a thief.
So obeying his commands is not a mere behavior change program with mere self interest in mind. We obey his commands because our heart has changed. Because we now love God and love what he loves. Because we hate sin. Because we see the ugliness of sin. Because we want to please him. Because our obedience glorifies him.
True enough we may seek to obey him at first out of fear of his wrath, as we know faith without works is dead, but the ultimate reason for these changes is because the HS has and is regenerating and renewing our hearts and minds. It causes us to be almost to be forced to change as we cannot bear sin, because we hate it, not just the sin we see in others but most especially the sin we see in ourselves. We hate that sin and want to change not just from fear of punishment but because our affections have changed. Where as we used to love sin, and make no mistake there is pleasure in many sins or it wouldn’t be much of a temptation, we now hate sin. We hate what it’s done to us, to the world, what our sin does to other, and how it offends God. The HS causes us to have a repentant heart.
That’s why Jesus said this:
““Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Matthew 5:4 NASB2020
Mourn over what? Mourn over sin! It is a picture of a heart that is grieved sin for having wronged God and others. No real repentance can take place until we begin to hate sin. Until we are grieved by it. This comes not from man but the HS.
So it must be understood the HS regenerates the heart, soul, and mind and this is the impetus for change, not just some behavior change program - +1 y
Because the results will benefit us. So the inclination of the heart in wanting to obey God is the result of salvation. The unsaved don’t really want to obey God and for the most part can’t. Because their slaves to sin and servants of Satan. Only the HS can change the heart from a disposition of loving sin and practicing it to hating it and wanting to change because he changes our motivations and the things we love and hate. We love what God loves. We hate what God hates. That is the result of what happens when God’s spirit resides in us.
We do our part as best as we can and we commit the rest to God. We strive to be obedient everyday and every way to the max we can and when we sin we rely on the grace of God.
So a life generally consisting of good works and obedience is just a tool to measure if we’re really saved. We will mess up. We will never be perfect. Bear in mind it’s not that we should say: “since I can’t be perfect, why change, I’ll just rely on God’s grace to cover all my sins?” No, we must pick up our cross and engage as best as we may in the process of self mortification with the aid of God, and the grace of God covers us when we fail, even if we fail many times. We must rely on his grace as the only thing that puts us in right standing with him. We cannot look to obedience and say: “see, I obey mostly, therefore I deserve heaven.” No at all because even just one sin is cause enough for eternal damnation. So it’s not our works, but the grace of God that saves us. That makes us perfect where we cannot be on our own efforts or even with his help. Generally being obedient and doing good works are just a sign we are saved, but we can’t rely on them, we must ultimately rely on God’s grace, meaning unmerited favor for our salvation because we will never be perfect and will sin one way or another until the day we die.

“Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.”
1 Peter 4:1-2 NASB2020
Suffered in the flesh, meaning died. It requires our death to ultimately sin never again. Also note the saved no longer live sin, but to do God’s will.
The one who is saved seeks to do God’s will.
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?”
Romans 6:1-2 NASB2020
Living in sin is having a continual ongoing pattern of sin that no real effort or attempt to change has been made or, the deliberate decision to continue with one or more sins on purpose and willfully knowing it’s sin and God is displeased but doing it anyway. Again there is a difference between falling in the mud, and even falling in it many times and choosing to lay in the mud. The Christian may fall into the mud many times, but each time resolves to get up and press on. Note, God’s grace increases when we struggle with sin. When we struggle, not when we choose to be perpetually disobedient without end.
I also believe it is entirely possible for a Christian to fall into grave sin, even for a lengthy time, but I also believe it is impossible for them to remain there permanently. I believe a Christian may be in a state of grave sin for a period of time and may temporarily enjoy it, but before long will become deeply convicted and deeply bothered by it due to the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which convicts the individual of sin and continually admonishes them to repent. To the point the conviction far outweighs the perceived joy they are receiving from living in sin.
Maybe we should exchange phone numbers in private message so we can talk on the phone. It would be much easier to simply say all this - +1 y
And any other guidance rather than having to type all this as it does take time. I do not mind spending the time to council you and guide you at all, even by these lengthy texts, but it would be more efficient to simply talk on the phone as opposed to type and I think I’ll be able to explain things better and you understand things better that way.
If you’re ok with it, and your husband is ok with it, let’s exchange numbers so we can discuss this and any other matters of faith in the future. I have no problem if you want to put me on speaker so your husband may listen to our entire conversations also.
What do you think about that? - +1 y

I think you’re being way too hard on yourself. It’s normal that you’d feel angry towards your mom and Janet.
Honoring your parents is a command for children. Honoring your parents simply means to obey and respect them, but you’re not a child anymore so that command doesn’t apply to you.
I mess up all the time. I’m not perfect. I’m just a sinner saved by grace, same as you. I’m sure I sin every day in thought, word or deed.
In regards to your anger, pray for your mother and Janet. The Lord will deal justly with both if they don’t repent. Neither will get away with what they did.
You seem so down. You are being way too hard on yourself as far as I can see. If you sinned, just ask forgiveness. Tell the Lord about why you’re angry with both. You can tell the Lord all that is on your heart. He knows anyway.
“For a righteous person falls seven times and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of disaster.”
Proverbs 24:16 NASB2020
“If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
1 John 1:8 NASB2020
See. Even the righteous meaning those who know Jesus sin. Just repent and try to do better. Please don’t be so down on yourself or hard on yourself. You are but made from dust, same as me and all humans. To err is human. We all fall short. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. - +1 y
The Lord isn’t even as hard on us as you are being to yourself.

December 25th was picked based on the average nine month gestation of a human baby, nine months to the day after March 25th which was calculated as the date of the crucifixion by Tertullian. The Annunciation is marked on April 6th - 12 days later. Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Christ's birth on January 6th for this reason. The result gives us the 12 days of Christmas, a compromise that allowed harmony between the Roman Catholic church and the Eastern Orthodox church.
It's got nothing to do with the winter solstice on December 21st - a bit of a giveaway.
My concern would be getting into legalistic argument regarding your faith. I grew up in the Church of England and was a chorister, then what we called a "Server" - the crucifer (usually me because the brass cross weighed so much) and two or four candle-bearers would help the priest preparing the communion, receiving the offering, and lighting and extinguishing the candles on the altar. We were supposed to light them in a particular sequence because one side represents the Old Testament and the other the New.
"The Old Testament candles must be lit first because the New Testament cannot stand without the Old as it's foundation". I got that lecture every week for five years because either I lit them in the wrong order or I snuffed them in the wrong order. By the time I left home and that church I was deliberately doing the wrong sequence to make a point. I was also being prepared for a path to full ordination that I decided not to follow. One of the few regrets in my life - but my life's not over yet 😉
Be wary of legalism. It has the form of godliness but lacks the heart of a relationship with God through Jesus.

+1 yYou should be able to worship the dictates of your heart. That includes celebrate Christmas the way you desire to celebrate. We have made Christmas a commercialized business. It's become too commercialized. We should always remember the meaning of Christmas. It is the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ.

Worship the dictates of your heart?
“¶“The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?”
Jeremiah 17:9 NASB2020
How about worship according to scripture since the heart is deceitful and wicked.
