Do you think "CHILD FREE" weddings are incredibly rude or awesome?

In recent years, more and more wedding invitations have included the words "child free" to indicate that guests with children will not be allowed to bring their children to the wedding. The couple tends to do this for one or several reasons whether you agree with them or not.

1)They want to have an 'adult' party where everyone can drink and have fun without worrying about kids running around and guests needing to leave because the kids are getting cranky
2)To save money. Kids rarely eat the adult dinner and paying for them is extra money, many don't want to spend
3)Some don't want crying screaming kids 'ruining' their magical day

Of course if you're a parent this means you will have to find a sitter if you intend to go, which in many cases will cost you more money on top of travel, clothes/hair/make-up, and wedding gifts for the bride and groom. Also it might seem rude to you, because your children are a part of your, and presumably the bride and grooms family, so why aren't they invited as well?

I got married at a venue that had a seating capacity of 120. Counting plus ones, my total "guest" list (including bridal party and immediate family) was. . . 120. There was not one extra seat available and I advised everyone of that in an insert to the invitation. Despite that warning, I still had one couple brg their child to the wedding; that child was a young adult, but there was still not an extra seat.

If you are paying a caterer $35-40 per person for the event, one couple brings three kids and it costs you an extra $105-120. That's not cheap!

On top of that, some people pay absolutely no attention to their children at a wedding and the little monsters run around lke monkeys with their butts on fire!

It happens a lot but just imagine spending that extra 40/50 dollars on these kids and they have a meltdown and the parents leave early...what did you pay for?!? And most don't eat the food anyway. I don't get it why people don't believe you when you say, we don't have any extra chairs and no plus 1s or anything else. Chair+Food=More money!

As for the second half, my brothers wedding to a t. My sister in law had 8! total little people in the wedding party. We (bridesmaids) walked in first after the groomsmen, and then they followed behind. We settled them all in their own front row seats but somehow we were one chair short. Her niece saw this and lost her mind. Full on kicking and screaming and throwing herself about. We could not hear any of the first half of what was said at the ceremony until her dad came and took her away screaming then 2x as loud for a full 10minutes as we were outdoors and the barn for the reception was like a mile away. During the reception those 8 kids ran up and down and all around driving everyone nuts until somebody blessfully drove them, where, don't know, don't care.

You don’t have to go if you can’t find a baby sitter but I think the wedding is about the bride and groom and not the babysitting fees of the guests. My parents were invited to my ex best friends wedding after she ghosted me and refused to go because I was not invited but her parents wanted my parents there.
