Will desirable top 20 percentile young men want to marry me?

My goals in life are to be a college graduate with a liberal arts degree, and to be a housewife and mother; not a career woman. After I marry, I may or may not have a job but, if I do it will be not be primary. I intend to marry between the ages of 18 to 23, either during college or else soon after.

Looks are important so I will seek an attractive young man that is dependable and a good provided with a good income or, if in college has that potential. My responsibility are the household duties including cooking, sewing, cleaning, baby and child care and homeschooling our children. Also, to make our home a place where my husband can relax and be comfortable. I will not be pestering him to do this and that. I’m sure he will get plenty of that at work.

While dating, I don’t intend to be impossible, but, I will not be easy. I don’t need the experience. Certainly I will not have sex until at least a month of dating, he has met my family and we have at least discussed getting married. I adore my father and trust his opinion as he is a very good judge of men so I will want his approval. If my ideals don’t conform to the views of modern society, I may care but I will not change my ideals.

from this post you sound like what many more traditional and/or religious guys would desires. yet many top tier guys are the ones who get girls throwing themselves at them. so the likelihood he'll settle down for any one of them is slim at best. unless he has strong traditional and/or religious values for a relationship. while desiring a long term commitment from his partner.

if marriage and/or children is a females end goal then the wiser ones would want to find a good partner. they can build a long term relationship with while their still in the 16-25 range and not waste time fooling around with F boys. because couples shouldn't even consider marriage and/or children until they've been in a exclusive relationship for 5+ years. so waiting to have sexual encounters until they've been in an exclusive relationship for roughly 3+ months. will help to limit the amount of people they sleep with which can increases their valve as a marriage partner. since many guys would rather not marry a girl who's been with over a dozen plus other people.

side note in many cases a liberal arts degree doesn't mean much in the adult world.

Well from what I know about most guys. They would rather be with a girl who doesn’t have loan debt and no degree. Then be with one who has a degree she barely uses and loan debt. Even more so if she decides to be a housewife and raise their children. Since for most people loan debt takes a long time to pay back.

However it’s possible to get lower interest rates on loans for college. If you build up good history before hand. By either getting a relative with decent credit to piggy back off. Or get a part time job once able and your own phone plan. Which can build good history if you pay the bill on time each month.

Hendrix College is a very good liberal arts college that I will qualify for based on my SAT results that I recently received, I was concerned about my GPA but I received a reply from Hendrix indicating that should not be a problem. Their policy is to match the published in-state tuition at the flagship University of the Student’s Home State. That is under $10,000 per year and I will apply for other aid. I am also taking college correspondence courses so when I enroll in college at age 16, I will already have semester of college credit and by attending or taking summer correspondence courses, I will graduate in 3 years. My parents will pay for my college. However, even if they don’t, the worse case would be a student debt of less than $30,000. If that becomes an issue, I will delay having children for a year, find employment and pay for it.

Certainly desirable guys will want to marry you. You have both the looks and ideals that men seek in a wife. You are much to young for me. However, if you were 10 years older and still unmarried, I would most definitely be interested.

Well you sound a little more like a traditional girl which is actually what most guys like. No man wants a potential wive who's body count is in double or triple digits. Stick to your principles, they sound good and reasonable.

Just one advice though. Do not get blinded by the "top 20 percent of men." Every girl goes after them, so they have a never ending supply of girls and will not ever commit. (There are always exceptions to the rule, but these are few) You are a young and cute girl, if you do hold off on sex for a while while dating you may be able to filter out the Chads and Tyrones who are just out to hump & dump.

Some blue collar guys who work trades diligently may surprise you as to how much money they actually make, not to mention the fact that they don't have any student loans to pay back. Just look at the invoice of your dad's next car maintenance service.

One of my heroes is Ron Paul. He is in the top 1% let alone the top 20%. And, he is very nice person with a successful marriage. Not that I'm in a league to attract a young Ron Paul but he is proof that not all top 20% of men are Chads and Tyrones. Hopefully, I can take your advice and avoid them.

Also, I realize guys without a college degree can be intelligent and successful with a high income. And although, the average lifetime income of college graduates is considerably higher than the average for high school graduates that does not imply that graduating college is the reason because they are not equally motivated and talented people. If a guy with the intelligence and motivation to become an engineer chooses to become an electrician, because he is more motivated, dependable, learns quicker, and does better work, he will soon be put charge of a team and later a general manager or he may choose to become an electrical contractor. In either case, his income may be even higher than if he had become an engineer.

So you want a degree and to have a large debt and then not use the degree?
That is a very bad choice. You would have wasted years of your life for something you won't use and make life much more difficult by starting out with a large debt.

Also, young and good income often don't match. Young with a college degree and huge debt is more likely for the guy too.

A college education may not be necessary. However, it is worth it to me, because it what I want. I'm sure you buy things that are not necessary but they are worth more to you than the money. You may not spend all your money but, if you forego pleasures you want, you can't take it with you. Because you want it, you may buy a $200 watch when a $10 Timex would do. You might spend $500 on a trip to watch a football game when you could stay home and watch the game on TV.

A degree is usually not near a couple hundred dollars though. A degree is often tens of thousands of dollars. It can keep people poor for over a decade if they borrow enough for a degree and never use it.

People can do what they want though.
Many men don't want marriage at all anymore because it is bad for men. It is even worse if the woman comes with huge debt that he would then be partially responsible for if he got married to her.

Guys who go for girls in college are after career women. Better to skip college if you want to be a housewife so you don't give the wrong impression. The top 20 percentile will likely be able to find someone who wants sex much earlier and most likely have slept with tons of women. You might have better luck looking for religious men in the top 20 if you want that lifestyle

I will not be closed to other possibilities because I cannot predict the future. However, at this time, I know what I want and intend to go after it. Nevertheless, I am aware of the possibility that I might postpone getting married for a couple of years to enjoy some alternate experiences.

I'll wait until I'm practically engaged to have sex, but I am not skipping college. And, since I am homeschooled and have already completed the 9th grade and 2 10th grade courses, I expect to graduate college by age 20.

What is the point of a college education if your not going to use it to get a better paying job? You would be better off studying on your own time than paying for an overpriced education that is inflating faster than anything else in the economy.

$48,700 for one year of tuition is more than what it cost for my 5 years of tuition it is almost as much as my tuition and room and board costs. I don't know how much of the $193,400 in tuition you expect to be covered by scholarships and grants; nevermind, the room and board costs. But the cost of your liberal arts education makes no financial sense if you plan on being a housewife. My degree is in a STEM field which has the highest return on pay/tuition; and I would be hard pressed to justify spending that much on my education even with my job. You're suggesting spending that much just for your own status and clout. I know you are only 13; but I highly recommend you get a part time job or take an economics course and reconsider college. You may not be paying for it but somebody is; and either way it is akin to highway robbery.

Based on the Net Price Calculater, my estimated net price after all available funds is $20,112. However, no student pays more in tuition and fees than the published tuition and fees for the flagship institution in their home state. That is $9,574 and attending my state university is an option I will consider. Also, as a housewife and mother that homeschools her children, I will need a well rounded liberal arts education. Furthermore, I can't predict the future. I may need a job.
