If you lost everything and your significant other left you, did they even love you?

I don’t think so. Especially if married. For better or for worse and they break that vow.

Like if a man had a good job and his wife left him. How’s that true love? Didn’t she make a vow on her wedding day? Most people do not everyone. Once you do that unless someone cheats or there’s major abuse. You should stay by your spouse through the best and worst of times.

Men too…. There’s men who leave their woman because she lost money or because she gained weight. Is that true love? I don’t think so.

That's a hard one if not married but even if married you go into the marriage marrying the person for what they first bring to the table. Something like cancer is a little different but as far as finances or weight goes, that can be managed and if that slides then so can the marriage eventually. It can really take a toll on the marriage especially finances. That's like about the number one reason why people get divorced. Love sometimes just ain't enough.

I never said I agreed but just playing devils advocate here on why people might do that. Times get hard and it can really take a toll on the marriage when finances aren't great. Weight can also be controlled. When one let's themselves go, it shows lack of self control and discipline which the person did not sign up for. People might lose attraction for that person and sometimes looks/sex play a big role in the marriage. And sometimes it's not so much the looks but the lack of care for oneself that makes a person lose attraction for that person. It's quite understandable why a person might want to leave in those cases is all I'm saying. But I don't agree with it. I just understand it.

I do understand times get hard. But if someone really loves someone enough to marry them. They should stick by them.

I pray to God I wouldn’t do something like that if finances got hard or something happened to my wife. I wouldn’t want to be like that.

I agree wholeheartedly. They indeed should stick by them but for some people that's just hard to do. Love just isn't enough for some. 🤷‍♀️

Well. Usually good partners help one another out when they don’t feel good. Now I get it if someone becomes abusive.

Some people do leave because of money though. It’s sad. But many times people married the wrong person for the wrong reasons

Honestly I don’t know I never been in that situation. I hope I would only divorce someone in the cases of cheating and/or abuse.
