If you and Your Partners Parents Live In Two Different States How Do You Pick The State To Host The Wedding?

My fiancee recently proposed and I'm over the moon! But we have a problem. We live in Maine, which is wear my family is from. We are visiting his family in Minnesota right now and they seem to think we are going to have the wedding there, but my parents want it at my families church in Maine. My fiancee seems to be ok with either.

Honestly I'd rather do it in Minnesota. My older brother is the pastor at my family's church and I don't want him to wed us, but I feel guilty for not doing it there, but I feel bad for not doing it in Minnesota because my fiancee rarely visits. I hate making decisions T_T

My wife and I solved the problem by having two weddings. LOL

We live in California but she was raised in Cincinnati and has a huge family. They are all Catholic but my wife was no longer religious. I was raised Catholic but was no longer religious, either.
Nevertheless, we had a full Catholic wedding in the church her family attends. It was kind of cool having that full wedding with all the ceremony. And my wife got to wear a bridal gown and feel like a fairy tale princess. And her father got to give her away.

Her family put on a wonderful reception at a country club with a DJ and good food and drink. All I paid for was the priest.

Afterwards, we went to New England for a 10 day honeymoon. It was early October and the fall colors were at their peak. I had always wanted to visit New England in the fall and it was magical.

When we returned to Los Angeles, we moved into an apartment together. One month after our first wedding, our friends put on another one for us. One of her friends lived in a condo with a gorgeous community building. Our friends decorated it and brought the most amazing, gourmet foods for the after wedding buffet.
I hired my wife's female lay minister to preside. I hired an excellent saxophone player and bought a delicious Paradise cake from King's Hawaiian Bakery. Those were my only expenses.
My family and our friends attended. I wore my suit and my wife wore her wedding gown again.
The wedding was wonderful. But I have to admit that it was more stressful that we had anticipated to hold two weddings. LOL It was totally worth it, though.

@Flower7. That way all of our family members and friends got to attend our wedding (s) and participate in the receptions, and nobody had to travel. Both weddings were different, but magical in their own way. We have some wonderful memories.

Simple. We wanted to get married in a Traditional Latin Mass and there are none where she's from. So we had the actual wedding and reception here in town and another reception in her hometown.

In Minnesota because that is where you want it to be. Also, if you have it in Maine, it would be hard to get out of having your brother wed you, which you are trying to avoid.

I would like to add that in general, guilt is not a good reason for making a decision.

Perhaps where it is easiest for most guests to get to, but ultimately if should be where you and the groom want it. If it too complected to decide, consider somewhere tropical.
