Yeap. One lady tried to tell me that she was friends with my boss and that if I didn’t hire her kid, she’d get me fired in minutes. Long story short, I put her on speaker with my boss who was like “I don’t know who you are ma’am, but if you keep harassing my staff, I’ll see you in court. Have a blessed day and try elsewhere.”
If you have such a problem with the establishment go somewhere else. I promise you once you leave, at least in the restaurant, we are laughing at you & hoping you never come back.
I know lots of restaurants like that over the years, that are no more. In the modern age all it takes is a few bad reviews online and thousands of people won't go there. People review places all the time. If I have never been to a place, I will check reviews before I will even give it a chance, thousands of people do that. No one wants to go to a train wreck place and waste money.
On the other hand there are lots of them where the management is walking around checking with customers how things are, and correcting them on the spot. Those one's seem to stick around.
@Dragonpurple if it is REASONABLE it is understandable, but if you order a medium steak & you complain about there being red in it, or if the restaurant is swamped & your want to bitch about an hour wait... Yeah, piss off.
@Dazed0N0Confused I get the whole stupid people thing, I work with people, mostly high end rich people who think they are our biggest customer. They ALL think that.
I totally get the order it medium then complain its not well done, those are idiots.
I also get the ultra busy, which is why there is a lot of places who don't get my business, I know they are too busy so I give it somewhere less busy. It is sad really when they shut down and go under, and I think, they were always swamped... wonder what went wrong. Turns out they were only swamped when I was attempting to go, not the rest of the week when I was at work and unable to go. I would never complain about wait time, you get an idea of that when you find out how long it takes to be seated.
@dudeinohio I do find that funny, never coming back then they do... that is not me. When I say never going back, I mean it... I said that about Walmart back in 1997 and I have not been to them since. I keep praying every day they go the way of Sears and Kmart and maybe one day they will... might be 50 years but they might.
Hahahaha I did it once to Amazon. I was mad at a delivery that was late by a week. And wrote to the customer support. I got a refund for the transport part, the order arrived the following day and got a free gift. Hahahaha and actually the person that was in charge of my ticket wrote to the company saying they had acted massively irresponsible.
This expression got old a long time ago and needs to die. And no, I have never flipped out and demanded to talk to a manager. If I don't like the service at a place, I just don't go back.
I have been so close but then I remember how I don't want to be associated with that name or look like a damn fool in front of everyone. It is not worth it.
It's like if a Japanese makes a mistake providing service, they generally beat themselves up so much and apologize profusely if you point it out politely. There's no need to do things like demanding to speak to the manager.
No I'm not good at that. A guy I know always complains to the employees and it works for him. He gets a lot of free stuff and gets stuff done quicker etc.
No because I don’t like witnessing outbursts and certainly don’t want to be the cause of or a participant in one. I live by a few simple rules, one of which is to always talk nice to the shitheads.
Nah I always calm down before I get crazy. I have gone Karen on my son's school one time but it was for a very good reason.

No, I don't even tip poorly if I get bad service. I just don't leave an excellent tip. I try not to let things bother me. Even if they give me a cheeseburger when I clearly ordered a hamburger and I am allergic to milk. I just eat the dangerous substance in miserable silence.
No , not me , more of a quietly assertive , but making sure they know I mean business in a polite , but firm way. Most front line staff are not paid enough to take crap from " Karen " types.
no. in germany, that doesn't make sense anyway. i know, in america, the customer is king. not here. if you're rocking the boat, they'll just throw you out or call the cops on you xD
I'll let you know - this week I've actually got to deal with a place that charged me a good deal of money refurbishing an item and now it appears something isn't working.

We laugh at assholes too at the store where i work. If a customer says they are never coming back... usually, we see them next week :)

unfortunately i see this being a thing for awhile

Too much of a hassle in my opinion to be worth it 99% of the time and I generally find it unnecessary in Japan.

No. My Mom has though, it's always super embarrassing to be around her when she does stuff like that.
No i'm not a confrontational person I like avoiding fights
Nope. I don't think I've ever complained about service anywhere.

Karens are fun to laugh at, and seeing videos of them getting escorted off the plane in handcuffs is good too.
LOL
No, I've never done that and even if I wanted to I couldn't do it.
