This is as bad as me saying that the average American is fat, ignorant and a religious fanatic. It's a generalization and a farce. No offence, this question makes you sound shallow as hell, and to be honest that is the MOST unattractive thing. I hate to stoop to your level and generalize, but you are reinforcing the stereotype of the image obsessed culture of the US - where beauty and perfection is of utmost importance. This is frustrating, as I know first hand that it is not always the case (except the US media which is definitely shallow)
Anyway, the reality is that there are attractive people in all different nationalities and all different races. This question is pointless! perhaps your "research" seems that way, but America is a HUGE country. Britain has a much smaller population, perhaps that's why it seems like the ratio of American girls are more attractive. but likewise WHO CARES? maybe US girls are statistically - I would disagree personally - but the fact is beauty is not designated to specific nations. Open you eyes and turn of the trashy TV sitcoms and see that beauty does not = super-model looks. God, sometimes these posts make me lose hope in humanity! Some of the most beautiful people come from the UK and the same applies for every other nation in the world. What is this? a freaking competition?!?!

yep, well to me anyway. I lived in manchester and london as a kid, and reconnected with loadsa friends on fb. your average british girl is often very pale, thin lips,average eyes, good few have pointed noses etc..
Americans in general have a lot of different roots (ex dutch, native, french..) and so they a more mixed, an in my opinion more attractive looks. ie they could have a nice tan, nicely shaped lips, big eyes...

To answer your question, does it really matter?There is no country that holds the 'most beautiful' women.There are beautiful women in every country.It's silly to try and generalize a whole country.Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, someone you may think is beautiful, someone else may not.

I think both just have different standards of beauty. My generalisation is that American women are more generic looking, where as British women embrace uniqueness and naturalness (which is something that I personally prefer). There's a lot of unattractive or coarse people in any society. But go into any metropolitan city in England and tell me the classier girls aren't good looking (probably less so in the towns, which tend to be more provincial). The girls in Manchester are gorgeous.

Yep, the so-called "hottest" American girls are usually far too pristine and barbie-dolled up like damn p*rn stars. I much prefer the natural beauty of attractive British/European girls. I'm not saying that all "attractive" US girls fit the p*rn-star/beauty pageant image, but it seems the norm.
US TV shows mostly have models rather than real actresses starring in them. Just look at the police shows..the women are perfectly made up, all slim, wear outfitts no real policewoman could possibly ever afford, and collar criinals twice their size without messing up their perfwxt makeup.
Women starring in British progarms are often much more like REAL women, they are often middle aged, not too much made up, not so beautiful, and dress like real women would.
You'd never know the rampant obesity amng US women from looking at TV programs, would yuo? You'd never know the British women on the whole are much more fit! But that's in REALITY, something in very short supply on most US TV programs, with a couple of esceptions.

In terms of young women (I'm talking 20 somethings) NA women are muchmuchmuch more attractive as a whole. The average girl in NA would be equal to a good looking girl in Britain.

So far, only 2 people actually think brit girls are hotter than American girls. The rest just said something about American girls doing more with their makeup, or European TV showing 'real' women. American girls > British girls and I will stand by that!

If you are coming up with this from watching TV you should pronably go to the UK and see for youself. The variety of people is the same as anywhere else. Some people are pretty, others not so much.
Also, British actors are hired for their acting ability, not for how pretty they are(*cough*hollywood*cough*).
I've been to the UK 5 times total and I've also seen it on the streets of britain, just the general population seems to be less attractive (i'm talking about teen and 20 something young women here) than what I've seen in NA. Hands down though, Canadian women are better looking than both British and American, especially the ones on both the east and west coasts.
I also have been to Britain. Not just in the big cities, either. I still maintain my point that people are just as diverse.

No idea, but british women are not considered to be particulary good looking on avarage. And I've never been to NA either. But if I'm to do like you (judge by North American TV-shows and movies) I'd consider NA women to be about avarage looking, compared to the girls around here.
The women look the same (provided you're talking North American women of Western European descent). The standard of beauty is what's different, which means that the type of woman you see modeling for photo shoots and stuff like that will look different.

I think the difference is that Americans (not just American women) brush themselves up way more than British women: lots of make-up, elaborate hairdo, whitened teeth... Even an older man like Dr Phil has whitened teeth, which I think looks absolutely ridiculous. And the hairdo thing is very American. Here in Europe people generally just kind of let their hair be, but in the US a lot of women look like they've got hairspray instead of water coming out of their shower :')
I do agree that a lot of American women put much more effort into their appearance. I don't agree about the excessive hairspray and waaaay too much makeup. That's a jersey shore myth, I don't know many real girls who do that stuff and they still put british girls to shame.

I've actually seen the opposite on the dating sites and TV shows I saw lately. The british girls didn't seem to take care of themselves body wise, and plastered their faces with makup (too much) or wore none at all when they would have benefitted with a bit of mascara and concealer considerably. The younger NA women seem to take better care of their bodies, going to the gym, and still wear makeup, but done more artfully. I just feel like the average brit girl is several points below NA girls.

we don't wear fake eyelashes and fake teeth. Usually only black women have fake hair and eyelashes. Don't know where you got the fake teeth comment from. But I agree that a lot of women here pile on the makeup and it looks gross
yea you must be watching too much toddlers and tiaras, because no one I know uses fake teeth ever, and hair or lash extensions only for events like prom.
Well actually 97% of Europe as a whole including the UK has chosen to filter their water flouride free link . The US water supply is heavily concentrated with flouride in 42 our of their 50 states which explains why they have such a high occurence of flourosis link in comparison to all other countries not just in their water supply but is also added to their foods too... hardly the best representation of good dental care.
I drink only filtered water, and I still have perfectly straight, white teeth, which I can't say for about 90% of brits. Their teeth are absolutely horrific. Yellow, brown, mouldy looking, snaggle-tooth, crossed teeth all over their mouths. I've been to a couple other countries, France, Italy, and Germany as well, and they don't seem to have such nasty dental hygeine as the brits, so I doubt it's just the flouride.
funnily enough I live here and don't see that, of course there are factors to cater in such as not wanting to take advantage of the free dental care offered and eat a lot of british sweets (which on average contain much higher quantities of sugar then the US on average) but as a general rule I don't see the consistant horrible teeth you seemed to... brush my teeth twice a day but saying you don't drink tap water... if that is true for you then you still have the factor of flouride concentrated food that you consume too. On average someone from the US is likely to have much whiter teeth then someone from the UK as a general rule

I think the opposite! I think NA white girls are a good 2 points hotter on the scale (on average) than brit girls, and I think all the other races are kind of more close on the point scale.
