you know, the classic "boy teases girl he likes and girl acts all annoyed and says (with a big smile) she hates me to anyone who would listen" scenario.

I am smart and experienced enough to not display any real interest or assume she is interested romantically, since she is just a very sociable and confident girl and surely must have at least a couple other guys involved with romantically, and for this particular girl, it would actually be problematic if something romantic happens between us.

I don't really know what I wanna do with her, if anything at all.

But I am just curious what would be going through her mind.

I have loads of experience with this. The guy I currently like does this to me all the time, it's just the relationship we have. When I say back I hate you blah, blah, blah I do say it with a smile on my face. We would never intentionally harm each other and we joke around a lot.

The only thing to be worried about is if you joke to far and if she comes back at you with an upset or mad face start apologizing. Because she is not joking anymore and you hurt her feelings.

What's going through her mind is that she likes you...lotss, but is trying to play coy and not seem too interested in order to see how you'll react. (You're doing an excellent job reacting btw; that's just the kind of logic that will keep us interested)
