"You're most vulnerable to loss when you're angry."

Because when we get angry we naturally tend to react thinking that this reaction will satisfy our need, the need to feel sane again and get this anger out. But as anger is a short-term dominant emotion, and the things that make us angry are generally the things that matter to us, we tend to react dramatically which we almost always regret later as soon as we cool down, or at least feel guilty about how we reacted. For example in a physical fight, anger will make your moves much stronger and harder to control its accuracy because you would want to get this angry energy out, which is more likely to cause losing your actual energy; your stamina, thus making you more vulnerable to attacks because you've lost most of your strength to defend yourself. So in general for a trained fighter, you're more likely to lose a fight if you're angry.

And this applies to almost every other type of situation in life, the actions we do when we're angry has one purpose, which is to satisfy this anger, all we need to do is just let this anger out, and once it's out you can expect losses to come depending on how much you're able to control your actions when you're angry.

"Anger is easier prevented than controlled."

One of the things that we should know about anger is that it's an egoistic decision, one we feel the need to make when something violates our ego or our sense of self-worth. But once this decision is made and you become angry, it becomes very difficult to control your actions at such state. It's just that we think we need to let that anger out to protect our ego, but as we get angry we are more vulnerable to loss as previously explained. What can be done to avoid all this is to take a pause for a moment, take a breath and make the decision to actually prevent anger and keep your cool instead, which will enable you to react in a much healthier way.

Humility - which I have discussed in a previous post - is the key to be calm when you get violated, because when you're truly humble, not much can bruise your ego.
