There are many songs that have done this but the first one that kick started this idea for me today was this one. I had heard this in a gas station today.
1. Mya - Ghetto Superstar (1998)
From the movie Bulworth. This one took me back and it threw me off because I had not heard it in such a long time. I only really connect with Mya's lyrics but they really make me think of the music from the time.
2. Breathe- Hands to Heaven (1988)
That we'll be back together someday
Tonight, I need your sweet caress
Hold me in the darkness
Tonight, you calm my restlessness
You relieve my sadness"
Those lyrics knocked me out of the ballpark, OMG I KNOW THIS SONG!!! But the funny thing, its only those lyrics lol
3. Hold on- Wilson Philips (1990)
Long before the Bridesmaids ever came out, I got a 90's collection and started going through the songs and was trying to find a shocker that I had never heard of most of them I knew on the collection or did not really care for then I ran into this. It was probably the only one I really got shocked by with the whole set but it was worth it! I turned it up and I must have played it at least 5 five times!
4. Glory of Love- Peter Cetera (1986)
This Shocked me too!! It could not have been on the 90's collection but it was around the same time I was listening to Hold On by Wilson Philips, I really did not catch on too much with Karate Kid as a kid but my brother really did but even then I only knew this song from just hearing it on the radio but it was so good and I always forgot it or did not hear the radio say who it was done by until I caught it on a collection.
5. Cherish- Kool and the Gang (1984)
So this was a great song and yes this song and the glory of love have been on my other love songs lists but this and the glory of love both shocked me when I had not heard them in a while and surprise surprise, I am going to list another one again from my prior list because I was shocked to have not hear it for so long. But this song was based on these lyrics

6. Always- Atlantic Starr (1987)
This is such a feel good song and it shocked me when I heard it played on the radio and quickly got it down on paper when I heard the artist. So good.... I will let the lyrics speak for themselves

7. Bad Boy- Gloria Estefan (1985)
This is a great little song but always seems to elude me. For some reason I don't think its played that often but it is a lot of fun and it is catchy and enjoyable to listen too.
8. Hold on Loosely - 38 Special (1981)
This song I caught on a southern rock collection, I have heard it before for sure but it kinda hit me hard because I had not heard it in a while, love the rifts
9. Still The One- Orleans 1976
This one I heard on a classic rock collection from time-life this video itself is from another one. But I also caught it on the radio too and I never caught the name until I heard it on that collection. It is a sweet song that I am glad to say I now know the name of :)
10. Gloria- Laura Branigan 1982
This really got me a couple of times on the radio but only the name Gloria and so much power and so much fun! But always quickly forgot after I sung with it on the radio to write it down then I finally did :) It such great little gem and what's cool is Glee thought so too
