Why We Can't Live Without Generosity and Greed

Generosity, to give

Greed, to take

"If there was only a world of generous people they would never accept something from the other as they are also being generous"

"If we were in a world of just greed, no-one would offer anything to the other, therefor becoming counter productive"

A good example in my opinion is with cars and traffic

Why We Can't Live Without Generosity and Greed

1) A generous person would stop and let someone walk across or stop and let another car drive out.

2) A greedy person wouldn't stop and would continue forward.

3) If two generous people meet at a T-junction then they are likely to continue waiting for each other and may start getting annoyed as they want the other to accept their generosity but so does the other one.

4) If two greedy people meet at a T-junction they are likely to fight it out by driving closer and closer to get in front of the other and likely cause an accident.

So like, think about it right?

We complain about people being greedy right?

But to a degree isn't that us being greedy too?

Because we are trying to get others to behave the way we see fit and that is technically a form of greed :/

Now, I know that people, some people, can be VERY generous and they give more than others sometimes to the point that you think they are overdoing it but that's just them being them, same goes for greedy people, that's just them being them.

Everyone has different levels of self indulgence and depending on your level of greed, your overall life will vary.

But like I said at the beginning, if you were to eliminate ALL generosity then no-one would get anything and we would all just be I dunno, screwed I guess? :D

Why We Can't Live Without Generosity and Greed

But the same goes for if you eliminated ALL greed! If it were all gone, no-one would ever make progress because everyone rejects help from the other and offers their own help but that is rejected and so on!

Why We Can't Live Without Generosity and Greed

So technically, both of these are things we hate but need?
