Gag story and poem challenge: Childhood

I woke up, I had so much energy! I was so excited and I was hungry looking for something to do! I did not want to eat, I just wanted to use all my energy doing something fun! I looked around my room and saw all my toys on the floor. I really liked robots and action figures and they were scattered all over my bedroom floor. I started to stack them carefully one on top of another one and I tried to see how high I could pile them up. After it reached about my height, they all came crashing down. I looked at my transformers alarm clock, it was only 8am. I took my action figures and started stacking things so I could place them on top then I started finding toys to throw at them to knock them off, after about the fifth thing I threw my mom came in with a “what are you doing now”. I told her I was playing hit the man robots down. She smiled at me, how would you like to go to the park. My eyes lit up! THE PARK! “But you have to eat breakfast first” awww mom!! She always does that to me…

She had waffles coated in syrup waiting for me down stairs. I jumped down each stair in my transformer jammies. I pulled out the chair and sat in it, looking at the waffles. “They are not art, you need to eat some” I took the fork the and cut some off and ate it “more” I ate a little bit more. “more” I tried to get by with just a little bit more. Then she stopped talking and she came over and took my fork and cut up the waffle and put four cut up pieces of them on the fork. And said “open” I closed my mouth tight. “open” I kept my stance. Then she ticked me and shoved the fork in my mouth. I chewed it and shallowed it but I was not pleased but I still cracked a smile. I really loved my mommy. She tickled me again and took my plate to the sink and followed her and held onto the leg of her pants. She looked down and smiled at me and kissed my head.

After she was done washing dishes, she padded my butt and told me to go upstairs and get dressed. I went up to my room. I had put on my clothes by myself for a while now I knew where they were and I reached into the drawer and pulled out a shirt, some pants, underwear and socks. I pulled off my jammies and threw them to the floor with my underwear. I put on a new pair of underwear and I pulled on my pants. I put on my shirt and pulled up my socks. My mom came in and smiled adorably. She pulled off my sock and put on a matching one for me, she turned my shirt around, I guess I put it on backwards. She then grabbed a brush and brushed my hair a little bit to get the tangles out and sprayed some detangler on it. She then put my shoes on and tied up the laces for me. I hugged her when she was finished and felt myself cuddle up next to her chest. We stayed cuddling for a few minutes and then she asked “ready to go to the park” YES PLEASE! I was so excited!

This time I jumped two stairs going down and I fell and on the last stair and my mom came down and picked me up quickly to make sure I was ok. She kissed me on the forehead and grabbed her keys and purse. We both went together to the car. I ran towards the back of the car and then I groaned our next store neighbor was walking up to the driveway. She started to talking to my mom and then I said mom I wanna go! “Not right now, mommy is talking sweetie” I kept on pulling and whining. I did not care what she told me, wanted to go to the park now… as I struggled the neighbor smiled at me in between serious glances with my mom. After much pulling and a couple of fake outs she finally opened the door and put me into the car seat. But she double crossed me as that was a way so she could keep talking so I started saying I wanna go I wanna go I wanna go and I kept on doing that until she looked at me with a frustrated look and made her final words with the neighbor. She got into the car adjusted her mirror and looked in the backseat, “are you ready sweetie” I was born ready!

We left the driveway I watched as we drove by all the houses and looked at all the other families in the neighborhood. Then I dreamed that they were all aliens and me and my mom were the only two normal people left on this street. I was going to start getting scared then I started looking at the clouds and seeing different things in them, I watched as they moved while we passed by them. I got lost in them and before I knew it my mom had stopped the car and opened the door. We started heading down to the park and we got stopped by a younger girl that came up to me and said “Ooo he is soooo CUTE!!! He is just adorable! “My mom let out a little shy smile and gave me cheek a squeeze. “yeah, he is my little sweetie” I hated when she did that. The young girl gave me one last cute look and then she waved bye and then I ran for the park.

I crawled up the stairs and went down the slide. I crawled up the stairs again and swung down the pole. I ran to the swings and put my belly on the seat and allowed myself to go back and forth. My mom came by and picked me up, “do you want me to push you?” I nodded my head in delight. She put my butt in the seat and started to push me in the swing. It was so much fun! I felt the air against my clothes and face and it smelled and felt so good. After a while, I wanted to get down then she took me down and started to put me into a tickle fight. I laughed so much and so laughed right along with me. We loved each other so much. I ran back to the playground and started climbing the stairs again. Then I heard “Mr. Stevens”. I looked around I could not tell where it was coming from but I heard it again, it was directed at me “Mr. Stevens”

I opened my eyes and looked at the nurse in front of me, your mom is awake and ready to see you now. I walked with her to the room where my mother was lying in bed. I remembered she had just had a heart attack recently and I was waiting to make sure she had recovered. She held out her arm and reached for my cheek and I bent down to meet her hand. She pinched my cheek, “my little sweetie”. I sat next to her and we both shared loving glances at each other. We both started to cry and I put my head next to her chest and she rubbed my head. Just then my wife came in and saw us both and smiled. I quickly lifted my head up and wiped the tears from my face. Then I heard “Daddy Daddy! I missed you! Can we go to the park now!?” Me and my mom both looked at each other and smiled.
