"Who are you?" asked Lucas. A girl in black leather outfit, wearing a black mask with diamond outline was standing before him. Holding a pistol in her left hand and a black rose in her right.
"Someone you have been finding all your life" saying this the girl removed her diamond outlined mask. She removed her leather jacket revealing her skin-fit black tank top. She turned around showing the birthmark on her left shoulder. Raising the black rose by her shoulder, she asked "Aren't I the girl?"
Lucas was too stunned to speak. She was indeed his girl, his black rose.

It is mean to tease us like this! Cannot wait for future installments!
Well, today I was reading my novel 'Where's my date?' and I was so cringed by that. It feels so childish, as if a kid is trying to look mature. So I thought that it would be better to write an adult love story or a fantasy theme with crimes and stuff since I'm better in that and slowly get better in teenage love. I'm more good in thriller things and I have read enough mafia stories online to be good in that for the beginner level. While reading it felt like it was supposed to be a young adult romance but someone changed the age of the leads.
@quietverbena help me out here! :) @apulu_imback I would tell you that I'm a voracious reader. I've read everything from the Bible, to Shakespeare, to English literature, to Hemingway, to modern American writing and bits and pieces of everything in between.
"Where's My Date?" is NOT cringe. Not one bit. It is a solid piece of writing with engaging characters, an interesting plot, and thoughtful narrative. BUT, more than that: it's fun to read.
We are our own worst critics. Self-awareness and self-criticism are useful tools. But they are not only double-edged swords, they are also double-ended swords. When not wielded carefully they can hurt us.
What I'm trying to say is that "Where's My Date?" is fantastic and not only should you keep going with it but also appreciate what you've created.
Oh my, I was never sad about that novel, what I meant it that in future my novels would be much better than this one. There's a lot of room for improvement here.
I love “Where’s My Date?”! It’s fun and beautifully written. Finish this one, then you can work on your Mafia thriller novel.
@QuietVerbena Thanks a lot! And yes I will start the Mafia one after I complete this teenage romance.
