How to tell your ex bf you're pregnant?

Recently found out I'm pregnant & I don't know how to tell my ex... the whole time we were together he explicitly told me He's not ready for a kid... and now he's gonna be a dad :( I thought of texting or calling but I don't know seems like a doozie to drop on someone that way? I have all these worries about the pregnancy so it'd be nice to talk face to face but I can't get the words out...

Look it is tough a hard thing to tell someone when it is not expected. Even when it is kinda expected you never know how someone will react. The only thing I said for about an hour after i found out about my first son was "WOW". I wished I had reacted differently. And I was ready for a child...

I'm sorry, I usually get funny during stressful situations. The way I'd probably do it in your case is invite him out for lunch or something like that, and tell him you need to talk to him right away if he tries declining. Let him know it's important and it affects both of you (by now he should be catching on) When you guys go out, be sympathetic, you know it's not what he necessarily wanted--but you two did decide as a couple to lay together and now you will have a beautiful baby together. Whatever didn't work out between you two has no affect on how you'll raise the baby. He should be in his/her life and you two should be able to act civilly. If he doesn't want to be a part of the baby's life--that's on him. There are plenty of programs out there to support single mothers should you need it. I wish you the best of luck with it. Just let him know that you need to speak to him about something important and it can't be said over the phone. He'll probably figure it out on his own. Try to stay as calm as you can and just explain to him.

Even if you 'Can't get the words out,' here, dear, whether you decide 'Face to face' or even calling him up, he has a right to Know------He's gonna be a dad. You both need to talk this out and of course, being it is a delicate matter where now that you are broke up and the bough has broken, perhaps the cradle doesn't have to fall.
He may be pleasantly surprised, he may not. However, no matter what he decides, the final decision lies in your baby breath as to what you want to do. I can understand 'All these worries' and one of the 'Worries' you should never have to contend with if you decide to keep this baby Is----A dead beat dad for an Ex.

Why is the guy a "dead bead dad"? She may be a "dead beat Mother" which could be the reason they are broken up. There are a lot of women worse then men out there. That is a pretty ignorant thing to say when you don't know either of them. Maybe the are both great people and it just didn't work out... accidents happen...

Are you sure it is his? If you want him in your child life and you are sure it is his, there is no easy way to tell him. I would just do it. Over the phone is probably ok. If you don't want him to be a part of it, don't tell him anything. You should probably consider abortion too if you are not ready.

How did I insult you? And abortion is often a very smart choice, I didn't say you should do it, I said consider it if you are not in a position to raise it. Don't get your panties in a bunch. I also covered the option where you want to keep it and want him in your life by saying you should just don't create suspense. I wouldn't go the comedic route either, but I guess that is also an option and depends on his personality, If it were me I would want you to call me and I would want the first words out of your mouth to be "I am pregnant."

Seriously, the one thing I really want to get across is that you probably shouldn't say "we need to talk, it's important" and create tension and suspense. How is it not insulting to ask if I'm sure he's the dad? also I wouldn't abort a baby for my own convenience, but that's another discussion however I appreciate the whole "straight to point " suggestion dragging shit out would just be stressful on both of us
