Why am I blonde, blue eyed if my roots are Brazilian?

My mother is Brazilian and my father is what you would call 'white'. My mother has dark hair, dark skin and my father has dark blonde hair and green/blue eyes. I have tanned skin, but not as dark as my mother. I thought her genes would've been stronger?

One of your fore mothers once -generations ago- 'met' a blond guy with strong genes. These genes remained dormant until one of your parents married a person who had a similar grandmother -generations ago- who too 'met' a blond guy with strong genes. Then that hidden gene surfaced.
For the same reason my grandchild can look African or East Asian.

By the way, there's a statute of limitations about what happened generations ago. Thus don't be angry at that dead grand grand granny.

Your mother is mixed.
And for you to have blue eyes, your mother would need to have the recessive genes for blue eyes as well.

The average Brazilian is a mixture of Portuguese white, native south americans, and African.

Usually dark and light couples give birth to tanned skinned babies, lighter than one parent but darker than the other.

Also keep in mind that there are over 8 main genes responsible for skin color so lots of variety can occur in some babies.

Genetics are a funny thing. Light eyes and blonde hair are recessive traits, however, your mother must carry those traits also to be paired with your dads in order for you to have light hair and eyes. So even though your mom has dominant genes (dark hair/eyes) she also must carry the recessive genes for lighter features also.

Brazilians are ethnically a very European people, and it's entirely possible your mother has some recessive blonde and blue.

My mother is a black-haired, olive-skinnd Iranian, and I'm the darkest one of the children with light brown hair and brown eyes.

Your mother is probably heterozygous dominant genes while your father has recessive, you got both pairs of recessive for eye colour and hair colour it sounds like. Skin is gradient so people tend to have the average of their parents skin colour.

In Brazil, it really depends what part of it we're speaking. The southern parts of Brazil are more or less European majority (Brazil is considered 45% white with a huge proportion of european ancestory. Northern states are more African but still mixed with European. Central is a little more mixed. Rio De Janeiro isn't an accurate portrayal of the whole country but tends to be the country we think of when we think of brazil.

It might be German ancestry. I'm sure you're not full blood native indigenous so that's probably what's in ur background making u so light

Both your parents have German or euro ancestry. Makes sense that the dominant genes are showing up in you.

brazilians are generally like you as far as i know by the way your mothers genes might caused it i think. there might be blue or green eyed people on your mothers side.
