If you had to become an inanimate object for a year, what object would you choose to be?

I would want to be a diary/ journal because barely anyone even writes in those anymore and I just get to chill for a whole year! But if I get to be the journal of someone like me (who literally have stacks of journals) then I will have an amazing year of stories, laughs, memories, etc. And I will be there for the person to rant to when they are confused, sad or mad. I will be there to let them reflect on events in their life and be the thing that they can openly spill their life to without judgement :)

It depends. Can I be killed while I'm this inanimate object? As in, if it got destroyed would I die? Also, do I just turn back into myself or does my consciousness just switch back into my body?
I ask because my first thought is a satellite. Id get an amazing view of Earth for a year. But if I could die or if i convert back into my body wherever I am then id choose something on Earth. Id become the White House so I could listen into all the shady stuff going on.
