Weird
True or False: unless you make eggs you're not a female?
Weird
When I saw the picture and read the question, I honestly thought this was some kind of "women should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen" kind of question.
Those who insist that transgender people are the gender they claim to be because they also believe that genders are entirely social constructs. They acknowledge the biology of sexes, but to them sex and gender are two different things; sex being biological (just as you described), but gender being entirely sociological. I don't agree that gender is entirely a social construct. I believe that one's psychology is influenced by one's hormones (among other things) and that *is* a matter of one's biological sex.
However, what am I going to do if someone who is biologically male insists he's a female? Demand to see this person's credentials? Although I think biologically he's a male, for the sake of being courteous I'll refer to him as a woman, even though I don't agree. If he asks my opinions on the matter, I will be honest, but only if he asks.
My friend's daughter, when she was nine years old, began asking people to refer to her as "he," and claimed she was a boy. I thought it was a huge mistake that the staff of her school were all called to meetings to be informed how they should now refer to her as "he/him" and be sure that all the other students do the same. The school was held hostage to the whim of a nine year old girl. About a week or two later she forgot that she was a he and went back to referring to herself as a girl. What a waste of the faculty's time and energy. I've taught 4th grade and had students insist they were horses and mermaids.
But an adult is a different story.
I'm curious, Wowgirl, how you would handle a situation when you encounter a person who insists he/she is a different gender than his/her biological sex. Would you refer to this person by the pronoun he/she requests?
I'm also VERY curious about your opinions on sex and sports. In track and field, a lot of female athletes are getting trounced by athletes who are biologically male but insist they are women. And what about combat sports?

in my opinion, if you were born with ovaries and a uterus - even if they are defective and don't kick out an egg once a month, then you are a female. If you weren't born with such, but rather a penis and testies, then you are a male.
You may FEEL differently - but that doesn't change the reality of the situation, and in my opinion, no amount of changing your outer appearance will change that reality. Having said that, it's your life and your body, and if you wish to change how you look, you have every right to do so, but likewise, I have every right not to be attracted to you, or to pretend that you are what you are not. I'm not going to be mean or cruel about it, and if you are civil and wish me to call you something in particular, I probably will, but that still doesn't change the reality.
Well When simplified to a SEXUAL reproduction sense then yes. In Sexual reproduction the species which should created the eggs (ova gamete) are considered female and the species which should create sperm are male.
Though some may try to say having an organ such as a uterus that can support and grow offspring would make a creature female however thats not always the case. seahorses, pipefish and sea dragon are able to carry young. The females transplant their eggs to the male. The male fertilizes the eggs with his sperm. Then in time give birth.
If we are referring to Asexual reproduction then thats far more complicated. there's fission, budding, fragmentation, and parthenogenesis.
I suppose we can take a look at the xx (female) vs xy (male) or ZW (female) or ZZ (male). Yet that can also get complicated such as XXY or XYY (male) or or X (female) or or ZZW (female) WW (female).
Interestingly enough certain species which contains the ZW chromosomes have been known to reproduce either sexually or through parthenogenesis or rarely spontaneous parthenogenesis. Females who can produce through spontaneous parthenogenesis usually require sexual reproduction but they have a rare event occur where their egg contains all the DNA needed to form an offspring and the cells suddenly begin to divide.
Humans unfortunately can't do this as we do require a certain dna structure called the sry to reproduce offspring which can only be found in sperm. Reproduction can be complicated. Gender understanding now a days even more but if we had to attempt to simplify it... in regards to SEXUAL reproduction the species consider to be female is the one which produces the ova gamete.
Oh yes I forget to mention another dilemma with XY vs XX... If the y chromosome fails the y will not develop correctly if at all therefore little to no male structure will be seen. The x chromosome will become dominant and take over for the y and create an XY female. XY females can look no different than XX females have female organs and genitalia and some can even give birth through IVF though they do have trouble with their ovaries. Some XY females can go most their lives never knowing their generic structure.
When the Y chromosome fails Its called DSD
thanks for the MHO 😊
The scientific definition of male or female is based on the size of the gametes. Not all animals have a penis nor do all follow the xx xy pattern. As for humans there are no genes to wear make up or do your hair in a certain way. If men wish to enbrace femine characteristics fair enough but it no more makes them female than scratching my bumhole in public makes me a man.

Unless you have XX chromosomes, you are not a female.
Someone finally has the balls to say it.
Thanks @WowwGirl I have even more respect for you.
Similarly, unless you're one of the genetic aberrations born genetically male but presentation of female external genitalia you're not male.
To clarify, AT BIRTH:
Female: XX Chromosomes, vagina, clitoris, "g" spot (allegedly)
Male: XY Chromosomes, penis, testicles, prostate
I don't care what you "identify" as. Gender is binary. You don't find gorillas saying they identify as a chimp. No lion ever identified as a gazelle.
Get over it already.
This is biology, not hate speech. Orwell said in times of universal deceit the Truth becomes the ultimate hate speech. He said that in the 1940s because of how he saw society crumbling.
1984 was a cautionary tale, not a "dummies guide"
"You don't find gorillas saying they identify as a chimp. No lion ever identified as a gazelle."
How would you know? Do you speak gorilla or lion?
I do, and Gary over there says you're full of crap 😉.
But seriously, have you not seen other animal species adopted by other species before and then the adopted species starts to take on the behaviour and habits of those that adopted it? Circumstances are irrelevant. To those animals, they identify as part of that family and that species.
No lion ever identified as a gazelle or a gorilla as a chimp? I wouldn't be so sure on that argument.
There's plenty of videos and articles that cover many examples of animals adopting other types of animals, as well as animals acting just like the animals that brought them up. Just quickly saw a video on YouTube of a Lion that adopted a Leopard cub. I've seen a duck adopted by chickens and walked and acted just like the chickens.
For tens of thousands of years gender has been binary. Then along come children born more recently than a decent scotch saying gender is about an "identity" and the world has to bow to that shit?
Of course I've heard of infertility.
Surely you, @Non02 , who is still not able to buy alcohol because you're a child, can grasp the concept of something understood by humans over the last ten millennia and more might - just possibly - be right and your insanity of changing the accepted meaning of words to twist it into something it wasn't 30 years ago might, possibly be wrong?
I'd rather not rot my brain with alcohol like you people, thank you very much. Gender has always been a spectrum, just like many other things. You are 49 years old, sir, and are insulting a young girl on a random website. Google is a wonderful thing, and you can look up transgender people from way back in history. Just because it wasn't normalized in your youth doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Even if this weren't the case, definitions and the world change over time. Times have changed. It is okay to be who you are now, so long as people like you don't spread your hateful ideologies for absolutely no reason. So what if a boy decides that they think they are a girl? How does that affect you in any way? Again, sex and gender are different. Your sex can be changed through many ways. I have a friend who was born female. They now identify as a male. They have a working penis, testosterone, an Adam's Apple, and are legally identified as a male. So would you still call them a girl? No, because their biology is no longer the same. They are now biologically a female, no matter what you have to say about them.
Would I still call her a girl? Yes. She's biologically FEMALE. Take away the testosterone injections and all the male attributes will disappear.
Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's Right. 80 years ago the holocaust was legal in Germany. Slavery was legal before that. Both were "normalised" by their societies. It didn't make either Right. People who spoke up and opposed them were vilified, and in the case of the holocaust ended up being murdered alongside the same people they tried to save.
Gender has not always been a spectrum. The term "gender-bender" popular in the 60s to the 80s wouldn't have been given if it were. It's only in the last 25 years that this kind of talk has been propogated.
This kind of thinking is rare in non-western cultures. Homosexuality pops up everywhere, yes. Hermaphroditism too. But that's it.
As a child I was a dancer - ballet. I hated sports - still do mostly. Loved music. These days the way I behaved I'd have been asked if I was a girl in a boy's body. Utter shit.
I voted false based on how the question was presented.
So by your argument, if you don't produce eggs for reproduction, you're not female.
Ok, so what about women who were born infertile?
What about women who had to get a Hysterectomy?
What about women who have or are currently going through menopause?
All females go through menopause eventually, so once they (you) do, does that mean they're (you're) no longer a female?
After all, based on your specific parameters of what defines a female is being able to make eggs, you only got about 10-15 years left of being a female before you turn into... Something. 🤔
You always have funny exception of funny nature mishaps male parts with XX chromosomes and visa versa.
Apart of that I consider something like that with XX chromosomes is a female.
Transgender thing is just a mental thing that got some fixation they are something they weren't born with.
Why it is like that have some interest reasons some of those individuals won't accept due to their mental fixation. some of them even tries to force others to go their way to make them not mention it ( just like the nazi and CCCP regime tried with their agenda )
First of all, never compare the Nazis and such to anything. That's all I will say about that, and if you need an explanation as to why, maybe go back to school. Second, sex and gender are different. Sex is biological (male, female, intersex), and gender is what you identify as (girl, boy, nonbinary).
Ever heard of infertile women? Also, gender and sex are two different concepts. Sex is biological male/female. Gender is your identity as a woman/man/nonbinary person. There are also intersex people, who have both female and male reproductive systems, or neither. Gender and sex are very complex things, you can not just have a solid definition of male/female when there are so many factors that go into what makes sex. It is not simply penis and vagina.
I don't think she talking about genders lol
I see your idea, and side with it.
However - there are female plants on the planet that don't produce eggs.
There must be some truth when people say that women are not ONLY about reproduction :D
Your sample picture has an interesting second implication:
''American'' eggs cannot legally be sold in EU or UK... not because of their nature, but because of how they are handled.
Perhaps, also the gender identity 'question' is more of a U. S.-driven idea?
What if one day we have people who claim to be transplants?
I am sure there are species that reproduce without using eggs. Perhaps a sea horse?
If this is true then there exist a hell of a lot of confused individuals with XX chromosomes.
I don’t really care whether ‘she’ can cook when we meet. Just be helpful around the home and be open to learning too because I cannot always do so myself if you intend to stick around.
Technically false. I might be being pedantic, here, but I'd imagine some females may have a developmental issue where they can't produce eggs. Or perhaps a woman can have that organ injured or removed. She'd still be a female in that case.
But I agree with the general idea of the post. Somebody, at least with our current technology, can't become a female.
Let’s make this clear. Real women are born with a pussy, uterus, ovaries, grow breasts, menstruate, bear offspring and lactate.
Paradoxical "Trick Question" !
... do you mean "were you born CAPABLE of gestating the approximately 435 ovum born females harbor?"
Or, are we defining culinary acumen as gender-defining? ;)
Absolutely True. No matter how many drugs they take, No matter how badly they mutilate their body, Unless you were born female with 2 x chromosomes, you're not a woman.. End of story.
and im glad those of us with a brain voted the same.
have you seen the new Chucky series on USA? It has a scene in it that brings back very bad childhood memories.
Definitely its creepy as hell
Well... I understand what you're saying, but there are conditions which can prevent egg production and some can even be born without ovaries or a womb.
Doesn't make them "male" either.
Honestly i don't know. Some people would say your wrong others would say your right. As for me i could careless, but tell me before hand if your trans so i know what to expect in the bedroom and for children matters.
Biology doesn't give a F about politics.
Does this apply to women over the age of 35 who can no longer ovulate and produce eggs, in that situation would you consider them nonfemale?
100% true. No man who thinks he is a woman is female. I don't care what medical procedures he has gone through.
this clearly wasn’t an actual question and just a lame attempt at being transphobic
I’m a girl but sure pop off. Never said science was wrong.
Technology is getting so advanced that they were able to manufacture mouse eggs and sperm cells from stem cells. It's only a matter of time before someone can be the genetic parent for the whole child. Imagine fertilizing your own eggs.
You mean clone yourself. At least cloning sounds like it would be more efficient and reliable from a technical standpoint. Plus it's already possible.
I mean I made a couple of fried ones this morning with my bacon and am planning scrambled eggs on toast for tea this evening, so my egg game is strong! Have I misunderstood this question? lol
