Sounds like a great resolution to the problem. My concern would be that the mouse may have some sort of disease which could be transferred to your cat and possibly, even to you.
When you pet the cat they rub their face and mouth and lick you on your hands and I don’t want that stuff all over me. I think it’s like animal barbaric they already eat nice kitty cat food that’s enough
