Why do I get this weird vibe from a guy? I mean were friends, but I get this vibe about him... like a vibe as if I can read him, but I'm not sure?

When I meant I can read him I just feel strange. It's like I can tell if he feels sad or happy or something. I just feel a weird connection. And when I feel a connection... I can't tell what I feel. He sits behind me... well across from behind me, so sometimes I feel like he's looking at me but when I turn, he's looking in the opposite direction. Or I just feel a vibe and my guts tell me he likes me... it's weird. Am I just imagining? hallucinating? Should I just stay away from him as far as possible?

Actually... it's sort of that way. I guess he got upset because I asked him if he was going to a dance, and he said no. So, I asked if he was going to a different one then if he wasn't going to the upcoming one. He seemed upset and just said he wasn't going to go at all. He didn't respond after. I then apologized a day later. And after that the day I saw him, he ignored me completely. He avoided me in the hallways and even hide his face with his hand the whole time he was around me. Before that I asked if he wanted to hang out. He said sure. So, when he was upset, I didn't know if he would still be upset and not show up. So yeah. My fault, I have to admit. But I waited for him at the park for almost an hour and he didn't show. Next day was the weekend. I felt upset and sad because I expected him to come (although it was obvious, he wouldn't, because he needed space). On Monday, I overheard the girl who was sitting behind me saying his name. At first, I didn't believe it because he looked shy and quiet and distant with 1-3 friends, so I doubted it was him. I then heard her mention him again, but this time she said he hung out at the park with him and some of her other friends. And I knew it was him. I was speechless. He had hung out with her at the park. They were friends? How did everyone know him? Later on in the afternoon I heard his name come up again and for sure I knew it him. I felt dumb and stupid... so I sent an message/ email saying it was my mistake and I asked if maybe I had gone to the wrong park. No response. I felt upset. He stopped ignoring and avoiding me, but I just didn't know how to feel. So yeah. I was upset and now avoiding him... and ignoring him because I just want to like him as a friend. And he's too distracting anyways... like I always catch myself looking in his direction and at him, so I just want to stop liking him as a crush and just be friends now. If any of that makes sense... :0

Don't worry about it girl. I totally understand you. I have been in a situation like this where I had a crush on a guy and I also did some stupid things, like asking him to go out with him and he refused and then texting him and him replying with short messages, whereas I wrote as much I talked in real life. My advice to you is just give him space, you mentioned it yourself and if you want him as a friend just be more chill.

Because... who's to say what he'll do. I don't really care about what he thinks of me, but I just don't want to start a rival or anything. And I can't really just say "I like you. Do you like me" because isn't timing important or something. But I think I'll just stop liking him... so I won't have to say anything. Plus it's complicated... how do you ask someone out without knowing what they'll say?
