What is wrong with animal people?

I don’t know what it is, but it’s always animal people - especially on the internet. They think they can tell you what to do with your animals and life, they’re so controlling. You can’t do anything right.

I just had someone interrogating me for planning to breed my dog, basically implying I’ll be a backyard breeder.

We’re about to spend thousands of dollars on whelping boxes, whelping supplies, genetic testing, hip/elbow scores and raising of the pups.

But no. Even though all 6 of my dogs are on royal canin ($115 food), have 1.5 acres to themselves, $3,000 kennels, enrichment toys (kongs, lick mats, snuffle mats, etc), daily walks and outings, daily playing sessions, 6 other dogs to hang out with, hundred of dollars in training equipment and toys, their own pool etc.. Despite all that we don’t care for our dogs or know what we’re doing.

Those poor puppies are gonna be so mistreated. They’re gonna have puppy swings, bridges, slides, kiddy pools, ball pits, their own room, whelping box, top vet care - the works.

Yet from 1 conversation, they think I’m gonna an abusive, backyard breeder. Like calm down.

I see this all the time from people and it’s so rude. Like get some social skills and stop gatekeeping animals.

Sorry, this was kinda a rant, but it just annoys me so much.

It’s the internet, it can come down to all sorts of reasons.

deliberate trolling

actually caring and having experience in what puppy farms (major thing in the UK) do with animals.

People believing their way is the only way and not wanting to accept other ways.

dog training and feeding is a good example, some people are vehement on raw feeding on how to train etc.

Horses are another example, where it’s not really cold but people complain the horses do not have blankets on etc.

That is just called life. People will judge you if you do something but if you don't do something then other people judge you and sometimes the same ones.

I am sorry but you can't always escape peoples judgment you have to live your life and as long as you aren't doing anything wrong then they don't have control over you

Because there are a lot of illegal puppyfarms and dodgy breeders out there. Anyone legit is now having to bend over backwards to prove it.

If you educate yourself more, you will feel more secure in what you know and their bs won't phase you anymore. It sounds like you're frustrated at not being able to reason with people, so if you have facts on your side what can they do?

Thanks for your opinion but that’s not it at all. I’m perfectly comfortable in my knowledge and perfectly comfortable with people disagreeing with me.

I was just genuinely dumbfounded cause I see it from animal people all the time and it’s really odd behaviour. It’s basic social skills to be able to accept others opinions and ways, and move on. But most these people really lack that skill and I do find it a little annoying at times, yes. But I don’t dwell on it.

you have it wrong. you are seeing one part of the internet. I've been ALL over and almost everywhere there are decent people getting harassed by stupid people who don't have anything to do but argue with randos online. In the vegan community and in almost every other. this is just one example. you see, the thing is they are all actually stupid together... they just end up in different places online. but yes, undeveloped people with shrunken brains walk among us
