You should definitely take every shot you get, but don't be surprised when you get the expected outcome of rejection. I'm short too (180), but I look at it this way: Regret is a 100% guarantee of failure. While taking your shot with her is only a 98-99% chance of failure! So unless she's a MeToo kind of b*tch, what do you have to lose? And even if she was, you shouldn't let the fear of some dumb feminist c*nt stop you from what could be a very happy life.
While it's true women in general, regardless of their height, only want men six feet and above (I'm closer to that than you are, but I fail 99% of the time due to shortness, as well), statistically, 4% of straight women are cool with it. Maybe her being six feet tall, she thinks no guy wants her and her self-esteem is low. You never know.
So yeah, it's worth taking the shot, every time. But just be realistic and KNOW that as a guy under six feet tall, you have about a 98% chance of failure (I mean, not literally; the actual numbers are kind of different; but since 96% of straight women find shorter men to be a dealbreaker, it's *basically* that).
So talk to her, but don't put a whole lot of faith or effort into it. Just be cool and don't psyche yourself out, because the statistical likelihood is, she'll say no. Men often psyche themselves out, out of fear, nervousness, doubt, etc. If you already know the outcome, you have nothing to fear, and it DAMN SURE beats regret or feeling like a coward for not talking to her! THAT is the worst outcome!
If you're concerned, then just go and strike up a normal conversation; that should give you a better sense of the woman, and let you figure out whether she might be interested. You can talk to people without asking them out.
