What positive lessons have you learned from others in your life?

I want to empathize the positive here lol

Personally I came up with 10 for now:
1. My aunt teached me that life goes on and it's never to late to start all over again
2. My uncle always pressed me to put myself first
4. From my mom I learned to be the opposite of her and not let people use me
5. Jasmin, a past friend, cause of her I learned that you can't change people and you can't safe others from their own mental problems and it's better to let go
6. My first guy teached me that it's okay to be me, to open up towards men I feel comfortable around and that it's okay to show feelings
7. My cousin and also a guy named Danny teached me a lot about what to look out for in dating and understand it all more
8. My other cousin always shows me it's important to have fun in life and stand up for what we deserve
10. Mery, a friend, shows me that we should still trust that people can be good

1 - My cousin taught me you have to work hard at anything you want cause others will want to take what you have

2 - I learned from guys who like me that you don’t have to be a super model to attract guys but just because a guy likes you does not mean he will treat you well

3 - I learned to accept disappointment from people and not try to demand kindness out of somebody who promises to be good but does not act good in your dealings with them

4 - I learned not all people are meant to be your friend and you should not spend time with those with incompatible values or lifestyles

5 - I learned you should be modest and let God worry about your status and not brag or boast for attention

6 - I learned it’s better to talk about the good in others then it is to talk about your own goodness

7 - I learned that if you want something badly enough and you are hard working and kind - you will get what you want, no matter how big it is

8 - I learned that a good looking person isn’t necessarily good or bad based on their looks alone

9 - I learned to avoid talking about appearances, even to avoid telling woman they are beautiful or nice, it’s still superficial comments not based on character and morals

10 - I learned to keep controversial views hidden and to use polite terms when you choose to reveal them because a fight can be avoided by using kind and considerate words

Most of what I learned was through experience. Only thing i can think of outside of that, its what to do and not to do when in danger, like being held hostage, and so on. I admit one ex taught me how to be more independent but it was just a tactic for me to become the breadwinner so he didn't have to be. He helped me move forward and then he took several steps backwards and said he wanted to be more dependent. Odd but yea

1. The less naive you are, the harder it is to be happy.
2. The less you know, finding happiness is simpler.
3. It is so damn easy to say "if it were me, I would x and y", but when the moment of truth comes, you could not fail yourself any harder because of how arrogant and ignorant you were.
So you learn to never underestimate anything in any situation no matter how deceiving somethings may be, as well as adapt to the painful reality and accept it faster.
4. With will power and proper steps, most things are achievable.
5. A platonic relationship between a straight male and female is not real and impossible.

My grandma taught me that nothing is ever enough for us humans, "especially women so just be ready for that"

My dad taught me a lot but maybe the most important thing was to mix my optimism with skepticism. Which ended up making me into more a realist.

My cousins taught me that not only can you overcome personal hurdles, but you'll be surprised how far you'll go if you try to make the most out of what you have.

Two good friends I have that I used to work for taught me what a family is supposed to be.

- One of my teachers told me to never say that we're poor, just to say that we live modestly

3. Anger (as a lifestyle) is a choice. And unfortunately, it's a choice that a lot of people make.

4. Making people feel appreciated and genuinely valuable is the single most important skill you'll learn in life.
