Also will you be sleeping naked or generally stripping off your clothes to cool down?
Are you looking forward to this UK heatwave?

Today at work I was melting
On my lunch break I went to the toilet, locked myself in and stripped down to my knickers to cool down for a few minutes
That was so nice lol
When I got home I couldn't get naked fast enough
Tomorrow it's my day off and I don't think I'll get dressed again after a shower
I also stripped down in the bathroom at work yesterday to cool ofr
cool off*
I am going to miss it. At least, where I am it will be just over 30 dec C. At home in UK, it will be almost 40. I won't be going to UK until Thursday for carnival weekend.
I always sleep naked. At home, I will be in a bikini for much of the weekend.
No, sitting in my dining room trying to work and it f'in awful. Just had to outside wot hang some washing and I reckon it will be dry in 5 minutes.
Lmao you guys cry every summer and you live in one of the colder countries
Because the UK Isn't supposed to experience this type of heat, never has done and isn't equipped for it. Less than 1% of British homes have AC, we have thick double glazing, insulated walls and brick exterior that is designed to retain heat, making matters 10x worse. If we had paper thin houses like in america, it wouldn't be an issue but we dont.
We are still built to keep in heat, despite global warming meaning the UK is reaching new highs every summer, and each winter is less and less cold. So no, we are no longer one of the colder countries, I haven't seen true set snow since I was 6.
@Kaytiee I am in Europe first time… not having AC is pretty taught. We Americans are so spoiled with having AC.
We are going to 30 degrees to 39 next week… urrrgggg
At 30 I want to just do nothing. I think I’ll die or sleep in cold water next week with no AC.
@midnightmoon05 Yeah it's crazy, I read a comment similar to yours on reddit. An aussie lady has just moved from aus to UK, and although the temps are higher in australia its way worse in the UK because of our infrastructure and the humidity/lack of air. We need to start adapting our buildings to the changing climate.
@Kaytiee I don’t understand why AC is not a thing in most European countries. Temp. goes up 33-40!
Also no screens on their windows. We open the windows at night to go to sleep… bugs come in!! SMH
Unfortunately at the moment I'm freezing in Australia :'( Send us some of your weather! :)
Wasn't as many on the beach as I expected, no more than a usual Monday.
It certainly doesn't help being six months pregnant! Phew!
It's interesting that the UK is now even hotter than many places in my country.
43c in Newmarket today, can’t complain
no..
Not at all
