Stinking flies! As soon as I open my door they make a beeline and swoop into the house even when no other bugs are around. It's almost like they are cloaked and then suddenly appear out of thin air. What do I need to stop this?

actually... four days ago, I had one fly sneaking into my kitchen and I was like what the hell is this!!
then a neighbor offered me this thing (because I happened to mention the flies after they kind of heard me saying WTF) this thing called "fly tape" so then I said, that seems like a lot of tape for just one fly or a couple of flies
but I tried anyway, and I had this one tape hanging near the door (place strategically because I got my hair caught in it lol) and then I forgot about it for the rest of the day
about five or six hours maybe more, I remembered there was a fly tape outside so I went out to check, I was curious if flies really fall for it and the HORROR! I had no idea that so many flies could be hanging out outside by the backyard, nothing dead is out there, no food left overs, but my kitchen leads right the outdoors so maybe they just want to get in into the house so, maybe get some and try them

I like those tapes too and usually use them on the patio and not the front door as they kind of look tacky. But most of the flies hang by the back door. I also have one of those bug zappers hanging from the patio roof. I say "Take that sucker!" every time one gets zapped and crashes to the concrete in flames.
they would look tacky and yucky lmao...
I guess there's always going to be that one fly that gets a bit smarter than all those who died
Try putting a soda can outside the door about a third of the way full of water... some of them will go for the water but they have a hard time getting back out... won't stop the problem completely but it helps
@MCheetah that's actually true... the sugar may draw more of 'em
It does Cheetah.
Thanks for the MHO

The question is, why, once they're in, do they want back out? And, why is it when you've got the door or window WIDE OPEN for them to leave, they just CAN'T seem to find the opening? They had NO TROUBLE finding it to come in!!
If you're inside, turn on an outside light to attract them away from the door.
They smell food (or other stinky things) and have been trying to get in for an hour (which is like, a year or two for a fly's life). If you don't want flies trying to get in, keep a cleaner house! 😂
Howwww Rude!
get one of these magnetic doors from Amazon
You still have to open it to go outside so the flies will still get in. They are fast little suckers.
They are attracted to light and smell. Also they do not fly in dark
If you have a porch light on they fly in the dark.
No they dont. Please check this link.

They're flies. They have nothing better to do than stake out your door.
The little shits!
so they can fly around you
that'a actually why they're called flies
Yeah, and you can pop a fly right out of the park too. These pests should all be popped.
Because they're opportunistic little bastards
Stop putting dead bodies in the basement.
Because they're sneaky little bastards.
For sure.
Don't open doors.
Should I use the window instead?
Wasn't think of that door 😂
