Would a fit and tall 13-14 year-old kid (trained fighter) stand a chance against a full grown man?

Lets say he's stronger than many teens for his age and is a trained fighter, would he still stand a chance against a kidnapper, a full grown-man psychopath.

This is from the movie The Black Phone

Robin was a trained fighter. He knew self-defense but the man still beat him to death. There was another tough, tall teen (Vance) that beat up two guys at once. The kidnapper still beat and killed him too. Neither of those tough teen stood a chance even though they were good fighters.

But seriously would a 13-14 year-old kid with good training stand a chance against a grown man? Or would he still get beaten and killed just like in the movie?

It would have to be an exceptionally large kid for his age, especially if the man was a tough guy himself, as many violent criminals are.

This assumes that the kid doesn't have a vastly superior weapon or something.

I will say the moment there is an opening to his balls as I will say don't let the age fool anyone one I learned that from a 14 year old girl as a grown man more than once and she had no training but when she got her opening I don't know how many hit's because she was relentless and I was completely defeated but she went in my pants and grabbed me by the balls.

yeah, those two teens tried putting up a fight and got killed.
The character that played the psychopath was tough to kill. The sole survivor had to rely on booby traps, trip him with a cord (making him fall into a tunner he dugged before... a trap) then punch him from there and not stop.

If the kid was highly trained and the man was not, he'd have a chance but he'd have to be smart and avoid the brute power of the man.
