Do you make your bed every morning?

Thought about this as I made mine today. I do; partly because it's where I work from home.

How many of you make your bed every day?

Yup. It is now routine that I make it up. I remember when I came back from the bathroom and I left my bed undone. Me asked me "what da faq is that shit, bitch? Fix that!" strange but that's how you lose a routine if you don't keep to it. I keep my bed how I keep my game room-in order. :D

Game room is my ps4, games, jewelry making equipment, older brother's bed, my controllers and laptop. All in a view I can see.

When I used to sleep in a bed, I would make it as I exited. The task would be completed within a few seconds of my feet having hit the floor.

For the past 30 years I've slept in a recliner, using the same blanket that I sleep with as a leg cover when just sitting in the chair. It just gets thrown to the side when I arise from the chair.

It's been quite some time since I've listened to Admiral McRaven's speech, but I do remember it as being highly inspirational.

I always make it evey day, yes, but not in the morning. I actually do it in the afternoon or evening. Might seem strange then, but I sort of like the messed up, inviting nature of an unmade bed. But not all day. For some reason, I like a clean slate eventually. My hard line is always before I go out. And the countertops are clean, kitchen tidy, also.

I'm with you on the kitchen counters. I am not winning that battle with the kids, however. Sigh.

My cats tend to jump in the warm blankets when I’m trying to make the bed on colder days, so it makes it difficult. Sometimes it gets half-made around them. Furry family first.

THIS. So true. In that, I suppose I am lucky first that the cat follows me to the coffee pot, strategically placed near her food bowl. She acts like she's starving not understanding that the real crisis is how fast my coffee brews. I'm lucky also that my wife is ruthless about shooing the cat out of the bed. Something about the cat not being in charge. (For the record, I'd never tell the cat that.)

Well mine don’t get to snuggle at night (couldn’t sleep pretzeled, unless I crash on the couch and they all pile on top of me) so they take advantage of the morning blissful warmth.

I've found that the muscle memory of going about it helps me through the fog just after waking up while the coffee is kicking in.

it's just one of those few things that I do to "negotiate" with my mild OCD tendencies and fixations, the need for order, neat, symmetry, cleanliness and so many other quirks that COULD have taken so much more control over my life, but ultimately they did not...

from time to time, it does feel great to just say " it's okay, and it feels alright, that's still my bed and it is fine... " lmao

Someone who doesn’t make their bed is more likely to also be overweight , never on time , have an overwhelming amount of debt etc.
