How can I get over the trauma of an earthquake?

There was an earthquake in Turkey. I was in the city of Diyarbakir, which was damaged in the earthquake. Within a week we were awakened by many strong earthquakes. Thousands of people died. I've been having trouble sleeping for days and I can't sleep. How can I get over this trauma?

I imagine there are going to be lots of people in your situation. I imagine there will be reoccurring dreams and some Post Traumatic Stress Disorders diagnosed.

A friend or family is a good place to start but a counselor is probably the best course of action

Talk. Find friends, counselors, and family and talk about how you're feeling.

Also, get busy. Volunteer to help. To rebuild. Befriend a child who lost family.
