Irish food? Irish music? 😅

This is a corny ass answer but for me it’s Irish dancing. I was a competitive Irish Dancer for over 10 years. I’ve been missing it a lot lately. I would do it again just for fun but at this point I think im too old lol.

However I showed my daughter Irish dancing recently and I think she likes it. Maybe I’ll get her into a class and I’ll get to live my competitive dance dad fantasy. I’ll turn her into a champion 🫣
but also I don’t know, cause that shits expensive. Irish dance dresses alone are like $2000. Plus the cost of the shoes, and the wigs, and the classes, etc. I think I’d have to throw her in a dress from shein and call it a day 💀

🍀St. Paddy's Day 🍀 in and of itself is my favorite thing from Irish culture!! But I'm from Chicago and here we dye the Chicago river green - it's a really cool tradition! We also visit an Irish pub and I love the energy it has for St. Paddy's Day - which they celebrated there yesterday. It's also kinda cool that it's supposed to be haunted. I also like the Irish step dancing, the quick fiddle music (not really sure how else to describe it), and as la. e as this might be, I always watch the Quiet Man. I teach kindergarten, so of course a leprechaun visits our classroom and makes all kinds of messes! I even paint little green footprints on the floor, sprinkle green glitter every where, and leave them a "gold" coin from our mischievous visitor! I love St. Paddy's Day!

Also one time I was in a store and there was this really gorgeous dark-haired a cashier. She started talking and I was saying to myself "wow she is so beautiful. Too bad about her speech impediment."

Irish dance especially in America has become more like a beauty pagent. The hair/wig, the makeup, fake tan, the dress, shoes, the lessons. I know parents that spent $10,000 on an upcoming competition for their daughter. It's become a real upper middle class thing here in the US with the cost keepingothers out. Doesn't matter how good your daughter is if she doesn't have the dress, hair, make up, tan and shoes.
