Why do I lie so much?

I lie A LOT. And its dumb small stuff. I have no idea why. I can't control it. Don't get me wrong i dont lie to the people I'm close to. But today for example i was at my new job and I made a coffe joke and a coworker asked if I want coffe and now all of a sudden I have to drink coffe every time I'm there... i hate coffe.

This happens to me a lot. I always end up in trouble because of it.

It's like when I'm nervous I just start lying. Anyone else who has the same problem? What should I do?

Get some counseling if you can. This sort of behavior is often a result of fear -- fear of disapproval, fear of rejection, ... And no, you don't have to drink coffee ever again. No one will care. If someone asks, just say "it was keeping me up at night" or whatever.

You're a woman. It's kind of in your DNA. But kudos to you for realizing it. Most women lie like it's there job. And don't even know they're even doing it.

I think it's just mostly indirectness. For all how your gender likes to talk. You're gender really avoids saying anything really. Most of your genders lies are of seemingly inconsequential s***. Like if a guy asks you where you want to eat, you say, "I don't know". Odds are you do know or have a leaning but you don't want to divulge too much information. Most women just want guys to figure it out. Another one is guys will ask what's wrong if you're upset. Your answer? "Nothing". Lol If a guy asks you out and you don't want to go out with him. And he asks you why not. You tell him every answer but the actual reason. To be fair guys do this to though.
Understand we're not complaining about this. Guys just accept this as a fact about women that women lie to us constantly. As I said mostly about inconsequential s***. But it is concerning because we don't know if she the type to do it about important s*** as well.

But yeah what you are saying is true.. but the thing is i dont wanna seam needy. if i say im fine and im not its usually because i know im upset over something stupid. And same with eating.. i dont wanna be rude.

And I concede that a certain amount of lies are inevitable in life. But this is the things guy could lie to you and in his mind he's doing it to spare your feelings. But a woman will still judge him for it. All I'm saying is women lie. So much to the point in my experience that I just assume half of what a woman tells me anymore is a lie. Because the justify it, like you just did.

Yeah but I work as a personal assistent and I was in there kitchen and they had a sign saying "give me coffe and you won't be in danger" so I made a remark on it and said it was funny and the mom laughed and said "yeah thats me I bet you are the same" and I just said "yeah" and then she gave me coffe...
