I don't, if they flake, they're a fake, personally when my trust is broken, even tho it might be possible to get it back, it's like shattering something and putting it back together, not the same, and til this day I can't recall someone ever gaining my trust again cause the truth is I didn't need that person before I met them and surely don't need em after they flake me, just being real, reals and fakes don't click, do you believe in second chances? If so change my mind

I give second, third, fourth, fifth chances lol. I only didn't give one guy a fourth chance lol. Def didn't deserve a second chance even though. All people suck a little in my opinion. Just first time you get hurt it hurts like hell. It's unexpected. After that, you are aware of the hurt they can do and lowkey you can never be more hurt than the first time. Forgive but dont forget and be more aware :)

A friend has a lot less long-term impact on one's life than a spouse. Already picky AF when it comes to friends, but when it comes to someone who could potentially ruin the rest of my life and my children's life (and fairly easily, at that) I'm going to be just as picky as possible. You have to be picky before marriage so that you don't have to worry about it afterwards.

They can both ruin your life so why not just not give second chances in general, a friend can backstab you in the worst way possible with long term effects just how a husband can not be pure and cause a long term effect.

A friend backstabbing you will never hurt you as bad as an unfaithful spouse. I agree that a friend can hurt you, that's why I said it's just dependent on what they do. But in general a friend is not going to impact you as much as a spouse, not even close. That said, I'm still perfectly okay with cutting someone completely out of my life if they irritate me enough.

When they start spreading rumors and you start losing opportunities, i know it's happened to people, that sounds effective in my opinion and what if they do the worst thing during that second chance? I'd you would've cut em out at first it would've been preventable

Yeah I wouldn't have someone like that as a friend either. But my reputation in the community is very sound, it would have little impact on my life at all and at most would be somewhat entertaining.

I'm willing to tolerate almost any mistake - people do dumb things. (I certainly do). But someone who makes a big mistake should recognize that mistake and that should keep them from making it again. If not, then it seems too likely they will keep making the mistake over and over

I can understand mistakes but flaking someone isn't a mistake, it's more of a lifestyle of unloyalty, respect or sympathy for another person, which I personally believe it shouldn't be taken lightly.
