I say Holyfield. He is probably as tall as Foreman. MIKE Tyson would not have the reach and Forman was fast for his size.
I’d say Holyfield by split decision 15 rounds but not so sure. I think Holyfield of the late 1990’s would be better prepared and would try to do the same tactics as he did against the Older Foreman, but against the young Foreman, all bets are off as Foreman would have simply cut the ring off, catch Holyfield and stopped him. I agree, Tyson definitely not. Don’t get me wrong, he has a greater speed and throws better combination, but I think his style would be a tailor made against Big George, Mike would certainly throw cautious to the wind, but he would have play right into Foreman’s strengths. In my opinion, Foreman was all wrong for Tyson.
Well, they already fought Holyfield I saw that fight
Yes but that was older foreman… what about a young 1970s foreman?
@Iron_Man A 1988 Tyson against George would be fun I’m not gon lie, but his best range was right in the danger zone for George’s bombs - Mike would have to hope his speed was the difference and try to overwhelm the big guy. Against Mike Tyson, George Foreman faces a different kind of battle. He most likely prevails because he has a solid chin, and it is unlikely that Tyson would be able to put him away.
Holyfield could be an outboxer when needed, had good chin and stamina, and techniques. He could also go on a clinch and had reach. Unfortunately, given the incredible reflexes and speed George had, he’ll get dropped like Lyle. Holyfield gets stopped or knocked out. He was hardwired to be a fearless warrior and, at 28, had a war with a 42 year old George, whom he said was both the strongest man and hardest puncher he ever faced. George would blow away Holyfield in the first 4 rounds, he had a granite chin and the spirit of a Spartan warrior , he just didn't have the natural frame to withstand a 24/25 year old Foreman.
To me, I don’t think mike would. I would say Tyson - Foreman by KO round 4.

People forget how skillful, quick young foreman actually was, they just see him as a heavy handed gorilla. Great defence and strategic thinking, he used a lot of old school boxing techniques and wrestling moves to set up heavy punches, Ali actuallyadopted some of these techniques as he got slower through age/parkinsons and less conditioned. All they remember is his fight with Ali when Ali basically outsmarted him. They forget he was Olympic champ and undefeated with a 40 undefeated streak with 36 knockouts before ever meeting Ali in the ring all before he was 25. He also was very physically strong and very tough. He retired at the age of 28 with 5 more wins and knockouts and only 2 loses.
The way Tyson fought was made to get at bigger fighters that fought very much like Ali. You know the way Holmes fought. If you look at how Joe Fraiser fought, young Foreman would have done to Tyson what he did frasier twice. Tyson avoided big skilled men like Bo & Lewis, he wanted no part of old Foreman when offered.
One of Hollyfield's greatest strengths was that he was the unified cruiserweight champ and that gave him a lot advantages in skill and speed along with his toughness against most heavyweights but struggled against skilled big men like Riddick Bo & Kenox Lewis and of course he lost to other former cruiserweight Moore who old Foreman beat to become champ again. Evander Hollyfield struggled against old Foreman and I'm not convinced he actually beat Foreman. I say young Foreman obliterates Hollyfield.
Riddick Bo was good but I never seen him do well against fighters of equal skill and size. Then ducking Lewis and falling to pieces against Golota.
Lennox Lewis was the best boxer of that era. I say he would have the best chance of beating young Foreman but in saying that I'm talking about more vetrean Lewis trained by Emmanuelle Stewart.
A real fight I'd like to have seen is Larry Holmes vs George Foreman young or old. Both gave Evander Hollyfield a run for his money despite being past their prime. Both are the same age, Holmes became champ at the age Foreman retired.
The Tyson that didn’t leave Kevin Rooney & if Cus D’Amato didn’t die. Foreman punching power makes you think he has cement in his gloves.
Not Holyfield cause he could't KO Foreman in his 40s
