Nah, I wear my umbreon slippers which are identical to those:
No but it's not that weird to do so here.

Nope I wear just socks in the house
Yeah it strengthens the immune system
I don't automatically take my shoes off before I enter the house. I walk around quite a bit with them on.
There are mats outside and inside our doors for wiping our shoes if necessary. We also have some carpet runners.
But if I'm planning to stay inside for a while, I slip my shoes off for comfort when I enter the house and I walk around in my socks.
I don't take my shoes off at other people's homes unless they request it. And I know very few people who don't wear shoes in their homes. People who do that are almost always influenced by Asian customs. We don't do that in America.
It's almost unthinkable for people to go shoeless at a dinner or party.
I just moved and it's like 20 degrees Fahrenheit here. My room is tile as well and it freezes my feet even with shoes on. I'm a no-shoes-in-the-house type of dude too... shit, I lived in Japan for over 10 years, and wearing your shoes in the house is like a carnal sin there. I'm trained to not wear shoes... but damn it's cold. My whole family have bought moccasins and we pretend they're house shoes.
Because I don't want to take my shoes off every time I come in, and put them back on every time I go out. I am in and out of the house constantly. Why would I bother taking my shoes off every time? That is wht makes no sense.
I mean, I understand some people are germaphobes, but that is a condition that exists in their heads, not in the real world. I've literally never suffered any ill effects from wearing shoes in the house. So why would I bother taking my shoes off?
I guess I'm lucky to not be a germaphobe. I genuinely feel bad for people who are.
For me it's not the germs. I live in the woods, I do a lot with my hands, germs are a part of life. I just don't want to track in the leaf litter/twigs/bark/whatever I have stuck in boots that day. When I go to mop the floors the swiffer pad is way cleaner since i stopped wearing shoes inside, and I've got a mopping roomba that needs way less pad exchanging and does a better job as well since then. I wear combat boots that zip on and off on the side, so it's only slightly slower than slippers to get off. If I had cowboy boots I may rethink that, but I'd likely still only walk in some rooms with the shoes on.
*fewer... was going somewhere else with that mid sentence
@BoopBoopBeep Ah OK, well that's a different story. You said shoes, and the photo you chose suggested that too. If you're wearing boots with significant treads on the soles that pick up mud 'n stuff, I don't blame you for taking them off. I don't like mud or leaves in the house either.
One thing that I've found helpful is one of these. I mounted it to my deck with screws so it doesn't slide around. Not perfect, but it works pretty well.

No one does here in Japan. We even take shoes off to go inside many restaurants (they give us slippers to wear inside). Main reason is because tatami is very difficult to clean if it gets dirty. Also just tradition for us.
"We even take shoes off to go inside many restaurants"
What if someone has really smelly feet?
@ChefPapiChulo That is considered a very bad manner. Generally people take care of that problem before going to such restaurants and also when entering other people's homes, like this:
Japanese houses are so badass.
I"d describe them as peaceful, zen-like.
@ChefPapiChulo They can be quite pretty although often quite small unless person is mega-rich. I miss giant American living rooms with sofas and huge TV.
Big houses are badass. But Japan is a relatively small island with a lot of people. Small houses makes sense.
If i just came home then yes i’ll walk through the house with shoes on. But do i just sit around the house with shoes? No.
If guests come over, they need to keep their shoes on
Lol exactly. But when my friends would come over, shoes were automatically kicked off and their feet were all up on the couch and table. Im like wow the nerve
Omg you’re wearing the Forces in your latest pic 😍😩
I love wearin the high top forces. Them hoes heavy af tho. They wear my ankles down
I guess i shouldve said mid but i call em high tops even tho they not as high as the hightops lmao
They are. Im just shocked you knew whag mids were lol. So i just call both mid/hi “high” because most dont know what mids are
Nope. We have a tray right at the door of our dorm and all four of us take our shoes off right away so we don’t track crap in and dirty our dorm.
Less cleaning for us.
I do not. I will wear them if I'm about to leave and forgot something, or I stopped by the house to grab something quickly.
Other than that, my shoes are off and I expect my guests to do the same.
Only when:
1. I'm about to leave;
2. I just returned;
3. we have guests;
4. doing repairs or home improvement projects
If I'm going somewhere or coming back from somewhere OR if we're hosting a get together at the house.
Otherwise, I'm just wearing socks and slippers/slides.
I think you'd have to be a psychopath to wear shoes in the house.
never in my house or in someone else's home either
Not unless I'm just so busy that I forgot to take them off
Wait people actually wear shoes in their house 🤣
I’m wearing them right now to help a tendon recover
Hell no, that’s terrible manners here. What kind of animal wears shoes inside?
Because of edema, yes. Otherwise, I'd be barefoot 24/7!! Unless I had to go somewhere.
No just socks
Even if I nip home to use toilet I always take my shoes off
Sometimes the toilets are far away in the town so I go home and use the toilet there
If I am near my home at the retail park I’ll go home and use toilet
lol yeah I’ve done that before
Because wearing socks are slippery all over my tile floor and I’ve slipped many times
I wear socks and slippers in the house.
@worst
NEVER.
Never. Taught By Mom. xxoo
I don’t. It just gets the house dirty
Not routinely.
yes, unless they are all muddy.
I swear slippers or flip flops
Nope. I take them off at the door.
I usually go in bare feet
Only when I'm coming in or about to go out.
fluffy socks
I do not wear shoes in the house.
No that’s gross
