What's the best compliment you got today?

Girl: And you can forget your name, but you won't forget a single detail about her, so yeah, you'll always remember your height as well as your birthday

Probably not the kind of compliment one would want 😂, it's more like I disappointing disapproval. But I do like the fact that someone thinks like this about me. Also, it's true that I remember a lot of minute details about everyone. Especially if I like you, I'll pay close attention and try to remember a lot of things about you.

I had a close friend who used to run a bar (unfortunately shut down over the pandemic) and being a bartender, he tends to be a pretty observant and decent judge of character.

So he said to me one time (translating from Japanese) something along the lines of, "You're one of those people who isn't afraid to be naked in front of everyone." He didn't mean it literally but metaphorically.

And he didn't necessarily mean it as a pure compliment. It could even be taken as an insult. But I was flattered deeply in ways I've rarely been since it showed deep observation of my tendencies to be a very open book and share very freely (maybe even oversharing at times).

I really liked that. I'm a sucker for really original compliments (or comments) that show careful observation.

The closest thing to a compliment today has been my coworker commenting that I'm wearing a polo shirt today rather than my usual collared or button-down shirt.
