Is anyone else having a snow day today?

Even though it’s close to the end of March, we’re getting dumped on today. It’s 5 past 7am and there’s probably already 3 in. of snow out there already and it’s expected to snow till 3-4pm with an expected average of an inch of snow an hour (wet heavy snow)…So even though bosses be like:

Uhhh yeah that’s a no!

I kept my happy ass home today. Which was a good decision as there’s already been multiple accidents both on the city streets and the freeways.
Besides that, there’s always this reason🤣:

It’s been spring since late February here. Never seen anything like it. Warmest winter of my lifetime, I’m sure. Hardly any snow. The one “big one” ended up being two wet inches that melted away quickly. I don’t think the temperature went lower than the 20s. Maybe overnight it hit the teens, but we never had that day or two where it was single digits or below zero. I heard we’re getting a ton of rain tomorrow, but it’s gonna be like 55 degrees.

When I lived in Tennessee and it was snowing and I would call in to work to tell them I couldn't be there, twice I had a boss that picked me up at home and took me to work. That meant leaving my son alone at home. How cruel they were!

I live in England. We've had a mild winter and at the moment we're sort of like in the 12oC territory. Definitely or extremely unlikely that there will be any frost until next winter.

I thought you might be living in Canada for it to be so cold into approaching spring.

AccuWeather is saying we are looking at 8-10 inches early this coming week. Then again they have been mostly wrong all winter.

We didn’t get as much as they were predicting… probably could have went in the drive home wouldn’t have been bad but the morning commute would have been and my van isn’t the best in the snow

Glad you made it home safely. We had a very dry winter, so any snow is good. Were suppose to get anywhere from 6--14 inches of heavy wet snow.

It was the patches of ice under the snow on the freeways and accidents on the freeway that kept me home

Exactly… we didn’t end up getting as much snow as expected so the drive home probably would have been fine but as it started in the middle of the night the commute to work would have been bad and my job is 45 min to an hour away from where I live so yeah didn’t feel like chancing it
