Is it possible for someone to slip on dog poop in a Walmart shopping plaza, fall badly enough to break a leg, and end up with it out of commission for the rest of their life? She said it really happened, and the person sued. I am having a hard time in buying it...

I would simply believe they are a shitty person and call it a day... I believe if you slip in poop and fall breaks your leg the its your fault for not watching where you are walking it's your fault for being weak enough to break falling and its your fault for being such a crappy person you look for excuses for the rest of the world to get you through life... yes people get hurt and deserve compensation but they are people that wouldn't sue because it happened they would sue because it really messed them up and they have no other options. If I broke my leg like that I'd be to ashamed and embarrassed of myself to think I deserve money for it. A person shouldn't be able to sue for more then they're worth and when you aren't worth a crap you aren't worth a crap. I hate people who think like that

Yeah, proving that your genius is never pay any attention to facts. The coffee in that incident was just below boiling point and burned her to the extent of third degree burns on the legs and groin which had to be revised with skin grafts over a very long period of time and left terrible scarring which impaired her ability to walk for the rest of her life. But of course you reduced it to just well she spilled some coffee and sued for a million dollars. It was a little more complicated than that. These were really very severe injuries.

You may be right bout this, but I doubt you could prove the harm in Court if for no other reason due to the economic implications. Thousands of these businesses use these types of cups, and no Court is going to find in favor of something that would harm all of them, regardless of how true it might be. After all, we still have cigarettes.

@msc545 Honestly the devil is in the details isn't it, and being on a jury is different than reading some blurbs. I can only say it's how it is presented in court and how the instructions are written as to which side I'd fall on.

You would think they had a thermostat on their coffee maker. I assert she had used Lava Soap in the morning and burned herself before she came to McDonalds. She just faked the coffee being that hot. Did anyone ever measure the temp in the coffee pot?
Yeah, the health department actually measured the temperature of the coffee and the coffee pots and that McDonald's. Needless to say the temperatures were way too high. McDonald's have been cited multiple times for this and have has numerous complaints about serving hot steaming hot coffee to the point that people's mouths were getting burnt cuz they weren't aware of how hot it was when it was served. They kept doing it anyway.
@msc545 and if I heard that information I might think differently as if they are violating code consistently then fine them, only way corporations make changes is due to cost. So I could change my view on this. What I don't like is the lack of responsibility. Anyone that goes to any fast food expecting quality should get their heads examined...
It could happen if she was wearing shoes that didn’t have good traction, or if the dog was sick with pancreatitis or giardia giving it a kind of oily texture. Then there’s the weight of the person, their build, if they have any underlaying issues like osteoarthritis or brittle bones.
But if it happened in a plaza I don’t think the business is liable but rather whomever owns the land since typically businesses rent or lease the property as opposed to actually owning it. That said insurance is a thing and would likely cover the business.

Realistically any thing can happen, all it takes is being super unlucky. The dog could have had diarrhea the just right consistency to be like grease, aka lubricant like. From there all it would take is the knee to try to over compensate the wrong direction and if you aren't healthy all it takes is a few tendons to snap and you are done for. Cause knees are meant to really move just forward and back. And depending how heavy weight wise a sideways motion could just hit the right direction for everything in ones knee to fubar.
It is possible that dog poop was in Walmart;s parking lot. In a lot of democrat cities it even may not be DOG poop. And it is possible to slip on it. Depending on the age of the person they could break a leg and maybe it could effect them the rest of their lives.
I amsure some ambulance chaser was on site.

1. Is there dog poop in a Walmart parking lot? Most definitely.
2. Can someone trip on it? Yes, if they're not looking.
3. Can they break their leg? Yes, if they fall awkwardly or have brittle bones.
4. Can that injury remain for life? Unlikely for a young person, their bone would heal, even if they had a rod and screws installed. But an older person's bones might not heal, leaving them permanently disabled.
Is it possible to slip on dog poop? Yes
If you fall is it possible to fracture your leg? Sure
Is it possible for a leg fracture not to heal properly and cripple someone for life? Theoretically possible
For it to happen to someone in a Walmart parking lot? Unlikely but still in the realm of possibility.

Yes it very well could be possible. Someone could slip on it, break a bone and have a quick for a surgeon that screws up her leg even more. If that was the case, she'd have one hell of a lawsuit against the doctor. She might also be able to sue Walmart since it happened in their parking lot
I make sure I look where I'm walking, and I don't have my mind deviated by using a mobile, like the majority of people seem to do.

IN the shop is possible but for a broken leg to actually cause lifelong damage like that would be slim unless they were already too heavy to have bone legs and instead probably need titanium or steel ones to support their size.
I suppose it's possible. They say it's nearly impossible to sink the 8-ball on the break in a game of pool but, I've done it at least 5 times and came damned close a few more times. And, a few days ago, I got 7 balls in on the break!!

If the break is a compound fracture and severs the nerve then yes, it's possible. A bad break could theoretically sever the femoral artery internally and you'd be dead in minutes.
Maybe if they’re really old. My grandpa broke his hip in a fall and he never really walked right again after that.
