I've been called "a tough cookie" very often and my answer is always to chuckle and say, "Sure, but even tough cookies are sweet. We just need a good strong coffee to compliment us." (As an aside, I started saying this bc being pegged as tough causes folks to act as if I don't have feelings they can hurt, as if I'm somehow unmoved by their nonsense... I'll stay focused and get things done, or be direct with people in terms of telling them what I want them to do, but it doesn't mean that acting poorly towards me is ok.)
What's a go-to phrase that you use to describe yourself (or adjust an expression others use to describe you)?

I sometimes get accused of being stoic. I reply, "I have feelings, but not like a ruptured appendix."
My personality is best summed up by the phrase, "Hold my drink and watch this." Just last week, I saw a giant bank vault door falling toward a group of terrified toddlers. Instead of calling for backup or using a sensible method to catch it, I decided the best course of action was to slide underneath the falling steel slab and use my own head as a makeshift prop to stop it mid-air. I ended up with a massive headache and a permanent dent in my skull, but the kids were safe, mostly because they were so confused by the guy wearing a metal vault door like a hat that they stopped crying entirely.
Another time, a runaway freight train was barreling toward a cliff, and I realized I had forgotten to bring any actual tools to derail it. I figured that if I jumped onto the tracks and stood perfectly still while juggling flaming chainsaws, the engineer would be so baffled by the absurdity of the situation that he would slam on the emergency brakes just to get a better look. It worked perfectly, even though I did lose both my eyebrows and my favorite pair of boots in the process. People keep telling me I should think things through, but thinking just gets in the way of the spectacular results I always manage to stumble into.
Is it captain dumb-ass or Tin Man?

@Cidknee Aww, that's not nice! @soopidhero was acting kindly towards others!

It fits better in part of a song by soil.
Honor - choices that you make, reflect of whom you truly are
Courage - rise above the masses, live your life complete and strong
Compassion - is the power that must be used for the good of all
Loyal - to the ones in my care, standing true for what the cause
Honesty - there are no shades of grey, only truth as it can be
Sincere - don't need to give my word, to speak of such, is the same thing
Courtesy - there's no need to prove strength, even respect your enemies
Values - this is the code I feel, emotions without words, can speak
I can't just use one phrase sorry. Honesty especially after meeting my wife is part of the core of it, I refuse to lie to anyone, unless I have to.
I'm not really sure that I have a specific go-to phrase that explains my personality, but I guess I do say "It is what it is" and "Just relax" pretty often. Those can trigger people sometimes (more so girls, because for some reason they hate being told to relax). I think the obvious reason I frequently use those phrases is because I have a pretty easygoing personality.
I’m kind, polite and sweet, but don’t take advantage of me or I will get angry like the Hulk
lonesome cowboy
