LOL what?! That's a stereotype I've never heard before, nor have I ever found myself thinking that. In fact, I hear a lot more of the opposite. Not that it's masculine and weird for girls to like coffee, but that it's very stereotypically 'manly' to drink black coffee. Whether sugar is slipped in unnoticed or not is irrelevant, but drinking black coffee is something people typically expect men to enjoy, and strange for women to like because we're 'supposed' to like buttloads of cream and sugar in our coffee to the point that it barely even tastes like coffee anymore. =P I love coffee and prefer some cream, but I can't stand it being too sweet. I like my coffee to taste like coffee, lol. But since I like coffee, I also enjoy when people around me share a liking for it, man or woman. Most men I know drink coffee at least in the morning, and several of those are extremely burly 'manly' guy's guys, who no one would ever look at and think effeminate or unmasculine.

seriously real men, real women - these are all just ideas within society. so she's going to tell entire countries, continents, full of men, who live in cultures where drinking coffee is huge for everyone, that there are no "real men" to be found there? okay, well I think your girlfriend is a dumbass. so sorry.
That is so stupid. Coffee is not feminine at all. If anything it's masculine because of it's strong flavor. Drink as much coffee as you want, it's not "girly" at all. If you were to find a drink the would be feminine it would be tea more so than coffee because it's associated it tea parties and stuff like that.
I always thought coffee (drip coffee, black) was exceptionally masculine.whereas tea and coffee with milk and stuff like that were more feminine. Sort of like scotch for men, wine for ladies.
At any rate, none of that actually matters in the real world. Do what you want, just own it. I love a lot of things that are considered girly, but if you know what you're talking about and refuse to apologize for having taste, who cares?

Now if you have to get a caramel splenda frappe with creme because black coffee with a bit of milk hurts your tummy... then yea its a little girly. But coffee is really just an adult thing.
Which sucks, because I don't want to be a caffeine addict, but I want it more and more every year I age.

uhhh. i mean, i wouldn't reccomend hot drinks at all in my opinion, its just degrading yourself. Like ill just 'sip my tea' or ill have this coffee, its not entertaining at all. Eat some food and have a little water or juice to drink, the whole 'experience' of drinking a hot drink is a lie. Its make you think life is a just a game and what you do or dont do or feel or dont feel doesn't matter. From my experience people who drink coffee and tea are either - way too comfortable where they are at, or are very anxious people who think that they can never really know or be good at wht they are doing so they drink coffee to try and make life seem like its a never ending grueling process in which you are never satisfied with your own knowledge. Its like i've not seen moderate coffee drinkers. Anyways i know this is pretty bias, but I've had some bad experiences and also know people who have bad experiences when building their life around specific drinks or experiences. Like a lot can also be said for junk food, alcohol, weed, and other form of stimulants. Its like just ditch whatever is holding you back so you can actually take life seriously and value your own feelings and goals.

but I always drink coffee, what's wrong with it. it's coffee. if a girl told me that I'd tell her to only speak when saying something worthwhile because that's just dumb.

Considering coffee has been the go to military drink for generations, I would say that she is very wrong. A hot cup of coffee got me through many sleepless nights standing watch or doing maintenance.
I have worked at a coffee shop at this is what I've noticed... girls tend to drink the more "fancy" drinks. Ex: Lattes, Cappucinos, anything blended, etc. Guys on the other hand, tend to drink just black coffee. This is awful, but I tend to think less of a guys "manliness" if he won't order a olain black coffee to drink. Not to say any of this is a hard and fast rule though... I am a girlie girl, and all I drink is black coffee. Your girlfriend is nuts...
