When a guy says "I'll protect you", do you think it might mean something?

i talked to him about this serious story where my family had like a stalker (its a long story lol). that stalker was bothering me at this festival, and he was like "he ruined your festival experience... next time don't worry, ill protect you".

afterwards we were talking about random funny stories and whatnot, talking till like 5am ahaha. sry, this question was asked earlier but something happened to it while I was trying to submit it and all I typed was deleted. I had to retype it so yeah lol. anyway, what do you guys think?

Well I'd say that is a natural response from any decent guy to any girl being bothered by a stalker. I mean, if I knew a girl was being stalked by someone and I could do something about it, I'd definitely offer what protection I could give her. But of course it might be a sign that he is interested you, as a friend at least and could well be romantically as well. Though I'd suggest on not acting on just that one thing, because it might just be him looking out for you as a friend.

It COULD mean something though not necessarily. I would protect any girl associated with me. A couple of girls and I usually study on campus until 2-3am and they're safe with me though I do not like them romantically. In this context though, there may be something more to it.

I'm not sure whether your question is whether he actually will protect you (if he can) or whether his statement means he cares about you. Men generally have an innate need to protect the people they care about from harm. I think it means he cares about you, although it's impossible to say in what "way" he cares about you without knowing more. Hopefully he can help you though. Having a stalker must suck?

It means he likes you, but whether in a a romantic or platonic way I can't say. All men feel that way about about the people they care about, especially women and children.
